Aside from Michaels eccentric behavior. You cant deny his music is legendary. He has had countless hits. And has the biggest album of all time. Maybe it should be Janet vs. Madonna...JANET All the way. I do like a few of Madonnas songs though.

Oh Michael for sure. I love Madonna but she can't match what he has done over the years. Sure he's a cracked pot and has some serious issues but no one will ever forget "Thriller".

As crazed as he is if he said he were throwing a concert you can bet your T-cells it would be all over the news and people would be coming out of the woodwork.

Michael!!! of course!! I know this sounds super gay but if you ever watch most performers, their backup dancers are better than they are. But when Michael dances, he way outperforms his backup dancers, he's as crisp as a robot, and as smooth as silk... not to mention how much passion he has in his voice when he sings. Yeah, he's weird, so what?

Haha! Yeah, I like "Upside Down" of Jack Johnson, play it alot on my guitar. As for M&M (not the multi coloured sweets!):
Michael: May need another 100 surgeries.
Madonna: I have no idea why you guys love her!

    Ah well... carry on... icon_biggrin.gificon_lol.gificon_razz.gificon_wink.gif

That's tough, I like them both but Madonna has more songs that I like than Michael so using that criteria, I'll go with Madonna.

As much as I love Madonna, I suspect that if Michael hadn't detoured to Crazytonpervertville, he'd hold his own. As is, you have to give it to Madonna. She's done all the things that Michael did, improved them, and added a few extra things. Her "downtown" art influences probably add a little more nuance than his traditional music industry influences. Musically though, his stuff from Dangerous and back was superior to her output. In terms of later output, if you compare Invincible to say Ray of Light? Madonna wins that one.

    I'm here... Don't worry I'm here.

I will repeat what i said in the Moo-riah thread: A lot of why i do or do not like an artist is based on what we can know about them. I personally think that child molestation should be punishable by death. It is one of the most abhorrent acts a person can commit. To strip a child of their free will like that is revolting and simply sad.

I think that should speak to my opinion on who is better.

But in All seriousness, I like Micheal's music better.

Michael Jackson has more natural music talent. But Madonna is definitely saner!

Michael is OK... I guess I am just biased toward Madonna due to Michael's very odd behavior. He is talented BUT I still think Madonna is the better of the two and much more sane!

I mean, is this even worth discussing? Madonna is a pop artist who has managed to stay relevant, interesting, and (sometimes) provocative through three decades now; MJ, on the other hand, hit his stride and zenith with "Thriller".

Madonna, love her or not, is without peer as a pop artist.

Both are legends, but Michael Jackson's music and videos revolutionized the music industry and really laid the groundwork and set the standard for the whole video industry. Breaks my heart to see what happened to Michael...truly one of the most magnificent artists that ever lived. As for Madonna, she is an Icon has endured and there will never be an artist quite like her.

MJ for sure. But, Madonna giving McCain that big diss on her tour gave her BIG points in my book!

I love Michael, as far back as his Jackson 5 days....however I LOVE Madonna.

The way I look @ it....Michael is admired for his past....he's not been musically relevant in over a decade.

    Madonna? She's still on top.

If we're talking about music then I have to say Michael. He's just done too many revolutionary things compared to Madonna.

However if we were to take into account everything else then it just has to be Madonna all the way.

Talent wise, MJ takes the throne. Besides his face, this mans act has stayed the same year after year. The same moves, the same vocal style, and he still wears that glove time to time. Yet, everyone goes crazy when he gets onstage. He has found a formula that works and sticks to it.

In where Madonna, and I am a HUGE fan, lacks talent, she makes up for in reinvention and grabbing our attention. Thats her talent. Her ability to give us something different everytime. Thats not to say shes doesnt have talent. Her acoustic ballad You Must Love Me on her Sticky and Sweet Tour had me balling my eyes out. And she can still make a great dance tune.

Both turned 50 this year and are still rocking. Name one current musical act that was supposed to 'replace' them (i.e. Brit, Chris Brown) and really really think about who they are influenced by. Its a win-win for me.
