As in accidentally overheard. This should be interesting. Here's one of mine:

At an event I met up with a hot guy. As we walked away to spend the day together, I heard someone say "That hot guy came all the way here for him???"

I was at a sleep over at a friends birthday party. There was about maybe 6 or 7 people in the room that I hardly knew.Even though the lights were off people were still talking and giggling, you know, what you usually do at sleep overs.

An hour later after the talking stopped and people were trying to sleep, with a few giggles here and there, I decided to go to the restroom. After I was coming back from the restroom I heard that the talking picked up again,So I decided to listen by the door to hear what they were talking about now. To my surprise,They were talking about me, in a not so nice way. They were pretty much bashing me because I was gay, saying things like " Oh you guys better cover your assholes when he comes back in here" or Kept calling me rainbow bright and mocking my voice. Shortly after I heard all that shit I busted the door wide open,Said fuck you guys with tears rolling down my face and tried to go to sleep.

Being 13 in a room filled with 15-16 year olds isn't fun at all.

i woulda just called for a ride home right there, lenoxx.

i was on meds for a little bit when i was 20-21. i stupidly told my neighbor about what i was dealing with, expecting a friend, stupid me, he's just trashy and tries to be a thug. i overheard someone over there saying "if he has a chemical imbalance, maybe we should fix it with the pavement" or something like that... maybe they weren't talking about me? very possible that it was about me though....

I was waiting in a classroom for my test to start, so I put my things in a chair and went to talk to my friends, as I was talking to them this girl from my class I never talk to enter and ask who was sitting there, and when the guy said my name she said "oh perfect he is intelligent" not realizing I was behind her, I just turn around and said "oh thanks! I know you meant it bc you did saw me" she laughed uncomfortably turned red as hell and awkwardly sat next to me during the test.

When I was 15 a group of us played hide and go seek, only I was unaware that the goal was for guys to get with girls. As I made it to home base, I overheard one girl tell the girl who wanted me to find her, "Victor's a little bit different." icon_wink.gif

Once i was with a friend of mine, who is from Israel and speaks Hebrew. There were a few women around (This was in washington dc at the marriott wardman park hotel- if anyone has been there, you'll know it has a huge lobby where people gather),-- the women were also speaking in Hebrew (they did not know that my friend spoke Hebrew) they were commenting and laughing about my muscles and body, saying how strange i looked was too. it was pretty funny when he told me what they were saying... of course, i would have never known this if it weren't for him; for all that i knew they could have been discussing anything in my mind.

Kind of something similar happened to my dad, he was in France on a business trip and his associate was fluent in Finnish (another language that is not to common) ,-- at the airport there. 2 people were saying bad things about American in Finnish (they would not have expected anyone to speak Finnish there) his associate commented back saying that [my Dad] was an American and they were a bit embarassed

They were just jealous. I know I am!

It's like flat chested women saying that big chested women are are all stupid, or poor people saying that money is root of all evil. THEY WERE JEALOUS.

For some reason, a lot of people don't seem to realize I'm Latin until I tell them, so I occasionally hear people talking about me in Spanish. One time I was at Starbucks and two very queeny (and unattractive) Mexicans were talking about me, saying I was cute, blah, blah, blah, giggling like schoolgirls. I finally smiled at them and said "Mucho gusto, yo soy de Guatemala." They both blushed, then we all laughed.

I've overheard a lot of things in my short life... and I have to say, to focus on the negative would be horrible and I don't wish to relive some things...
    so I'll try the positive!

"I really hope he's here in support of his gay friend." - Random straight girl at a bar.
"That guy you brought with you... where on earth did you find him and how do I get one!?" - Drag queen not knowing I was on the steps about to walk into their dressing room to hand my friend his drink.
"I want to walk down that aisle just to get a smell of him. When he walked passed earlier... I was like, "bump into me... please." - Girl at WalMart

I was in England with my then girlfriend's family when I was 16. We stayed with her grandparents. Anyway, the Grandfather and I got along really well. We did lots of farm things together and he was proud to show me the countryside and all the native animals. I never saw much of my own grandparents and had a lot of respect for him and the time he spent with me. Until I overheard him telling someone that I "wasn't a man".

A-ha moment: Age is no barrier to being a two-faced prick.

Sure Vic. I'm not that nosy about what others say about me, and I am pretty unaware of my surroundings but I do remember a few of them.

Once (this was 10 years ago) I was attending a concert in school and I was in a black suit / tie. I overheard a bunch of Korean girls in a pack giggling as soon as I walked into the room. I overheard one of them whispered too loudly, "He's so cute.". Yeah that made my day.

Another time, (last year, note 9 years passed proving that I am totally oblivious to these things), I was on Waikiki Beach walking. I walked by two girls, I think one was Hawaiian another Caucasian, I had my headphone earplugs on but the music was off. They must thought that I can't hear them. This was the conversation (they were doing it pretty discreetly but I still overheard everything)

Girl 1: "hey look at that guy standing over there" (with a chin pointing)
Girl 2: "the one in sun glasses and backpack? I know, I saw"
Girl 1: "he's really cute, especially for an asian guy"
Girl 2: *smacks girl 1 playfully*, says, "I know, right?"
(I dunno if I should be flattered or offended for that cute for an asian guy statement. But they made that comment when I had my shirt off so I guess I should be very happy icon_biggrin.gif)

I have NEVER overheard gay guys talking about me though. Once a guy told me that his friend thought I was cute and wants to hook up with me, but I guess that doesn't fit the topic of your thread Vic.

When I was a junior in high school, I won a spot representing my school at Yosemite National Park's week long environmental camp. I felt really honored and awesome cuz our class president was the one who told me to enter and that she thought it would be cool if I could go (she had already secured her spot).
I was the only guy to enter, and got the last spot.

Third night in, I go to bed early, cuz I don't really know many people and I'm feeling pretty freakin shy, and after an hour or so, realise the window is open, which is why it's so cold in the cabin.
I realise the window is open when I hear my cabin mates sitting outside talking about how they don't feel comfortable sharing a cabin with a gay guy. I cried long and hard about that, until i fell asleep.
I woke up and the class president was actually sleeping in my cabin. She was the only one who felt safe enough to. :-(

I've overheard mostly good things dealing with my looks, etc... I did hear one guy say he thought I was a arrogant snot, that was several years ago. Didn't make me feel very good, honestly.

I'm not one to ogle or make comments at people that I see at work. I will talk to the other gay people at work about gay rights issues and stuff like that though. One thing I will do is watch people and come up with a background for them (it helps in writing characters for stories).

My co-worker is gay and he's ALWAYS commenting on cute guys. One day we were walking through the store we work at and he said he'd be right back. That he needed to tell someone something. I wasn't about to get stuck with doing most of our work which is usually the norm. So I followed him.

He didn't know I was behind him when he approached another gay worker and said, "He seems to like fat guys."

So I continued walking up and said, "Who are you talking about?"

My co-worker looked embarrassed while the other guy looked downright pissed. Since they always would let me know what was going on before it was a given what was actually going on.

I'm still laughing about it. It is true that the less you tell people the more they will make up about you and I hardly tell anyone about my life outside of work.

Strange how your mind works.....I can't really think of anything derogatory that anyone's said about me that I have overheard....although I'm sure it's happened many times throughout the years. I guess I let those drop out of memory. The memories of people actually saying good things about me I cherish.

I was on the treadmill at the gym earlier this year and heard two muscled guys say "Hey, there's two treadmills open next to that fat guy in the green shirt" and they got onto the ones next to me.
