There are at least a couple of guys I know of on this site that have used it and liked the results. Maybe they'll post. I've heard a lot of good things about it. I haven't used it but I'm doing Insanity right now which is great! Might order P90X once I'm done.

I've used it. The workouts are really intense. The one thing about it is that you have to follow their diet if you want to see the results they promote. My biggest issue with P90X is the length of the workouts. When I first bought it to use it was to have a quick workout at home. These workouts are at least 1 hour or more. Being a full-time student and working full-time meant I was able to do about half of the workouts...but they were great.

You can't get a free trial...

...but you can illegally download it for free! Just do a torrent search a thepiratebay.org and it's all there.

I'm about halfway through my second 90-day round and I've had some pretty great results. As GLBeck said above, the eating plan is half the battle and in some ways was the most difficult adjustment for me. Yea, it's six workouts a week of at least an hour so you need to be committed... but they're a waste of time if you're not eating right and that takes even MORE commitment IMO.

There's a before/after pic on my profile... real results.

And no, I'm not on Tony Horton's payroll.

i bought the package...it's VERY difficult!! especially the yoga cd...i can't imagine that anyone who is in average shape would be able to follow the routine completely at first. even tho Tony Horten says anyone can do this routine...it's not the truth. you have to already be in fairly good shape to do the 90 program and get the results. i cant even see how fat people could do it at all.

P90X is awesome! Even, if you don't completely stick to the diet, you will see results if you stick through the exercises. I completed it over a year ago, and I still use many of the workouts in my routine today.

I loved it... an injury kept me from going on, but I loved it.
Here's my blog about it if you want to have a look:

Best to read the January-March segment at the beginning since it describes the first round.

Bruno Mars uses it, and it's accordingly followed up by "meeting a really nice girl and having some really nice sex".

Maybe it works on boys too?

I do P90X as a way to just mix up my workouts. I get my ass kicked every time because they're done in such a way that you always push yourself to your max, you never really get used to them. I love the leg day and the plyometrics day, and the ab workout is excellent, too. Products that expensive rarely sell so well if they don't work, and I think the workouts are really good.

As a side note, the best part of the program is when you get to the point where you can put the sound on mute because you know every Tony Horton joke/quote/instruction by heart. You'll know you're there when you find yourself blurting out his lines before he even delivers them. icon_eek.gif

I tried it and didn't like it at all. Did it for 6 weeks and saw no change.

In my opinion it requires too much time, and the diet is unsustainable over the long term. I would rather go to the gym.

I also started to get pain in my hips but I can't imagine that would be a problem for someone your age.

It is a nice program. I didn't do it myself. The only thing that keeps me from doing it is pullup bars. I can't get one to fit my door without damaging it. But I did observe the effect on someone else.

If you are a pirate, you can always get if for free online.

I am doing insanity too!!! But failed at 50 days the first time. I didn't lose any weight, but lost quite bit of fat and gained similar amount of muscle, and started to show some abs. Will try a second round soon.icon_twisted.gif

Another thing that makes me laugh/cringe is "Kneecaps" during kenpo. UGH! That guy is either trying to hard or not trying hard enough... not sure which. I try not to watch him but it's like a train wreck.

I have used P90x and it was absolutely the best thing I've ever done as far as work outs goes. My reasons are as follows: it's always warm up, work out and cool down in less than an hour on all days other than Yoga days. Makes it easy to stick to when I have a very hectic schedule. I noticed steady improvements in my toning etc. It is well worth the time and effort. As far as cost, there are lots of boot leg copies around and its reasonable if you purchase it online.

One warning, if you do it and stick with it, you will feel a lot of aches the first couple weeks. That is your body getting pushed and using muscles you've not used before. Push through it and you will be glad you did.

    JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did the full P90x program and it was intense but outstanding. I enjoy the fact that its less than 1 hour per day to warm up, do your routine and then cool down. I didn't follow the diet but did manage it on my own and got the results that I wanted.
