A failing that we see exhibited by the vast majority of Repub politicians, and that we see exhibited by our right-winger friends right here on the RJ Forum threads day in and day out.

    Sarah explaining Paul Revere:

"...he who warned, uh, the...the British that they weren’t gonna be takin' away our arms...uh, by ringin' those bells and um...makin' sure as he's ridin' his horse through town...to send those warning shots and bells...that, uh, we were gonna be secure and...and we were gonna be free...and we were gonna be armed."

While Paul Revere is probably best known for his famous Midnight Ride and for his silversmithing, after the Revolution he had set up a foundry in the North End of Boston, making iron and later brass items such as stoves, hearths, anvils and cannons. In 1792, he agreed to re-cast the cracked bell from what is now known as the Old North Church in Boston, and from this beginning, the Revere foundry went on to cast a total of 398 bells between 1792 and 1828, first in the North End and, after 1804, in Canton, Massachusetts.

Perleston L. (“Bub”) Pert, formerly of Bath, has researched the Revere bells in Maine, and in 1971 was able to identify twenty-three still remaining in the state.

Of these, only four could have been cast personally by Paul Revere before his death in 1818: the bells at Bath City Hall, Christ Church at Gardiner, First Parish Unitarian Church at Kennebunk, and St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church at Damariscotta Mills.

A good belly laugh a day, can help keep that doctor away, thanks for helping my day start off with one; how the Dem's very quickly forget their own sins , and forgive for them too. I suppose focusing all your hate on the Republicans helps with this process.

I suppose it's like playing the victom, yet failing to see how much you victimise.

Well, she already proved in her campaign with Grumpy McCain that all she has to do is open her mouth and she quickly self destructs. And, her twin sister Michelle Bachmann is even better at it.

They're no Hillary Clinton. That's for sure.

Kind of like the obsession we see about All Things Palin from our left winger friends right here at RJ. Thank God you are here so we can keep tabs on what Sarah is up to on a daily, or even hourly, basis. icon_lol.gif

But if President Obama said something you thought was a misstep, you'd post it here in a flash, wouldn't you? Or jump on it if the likes of riddler or southbeach did, yes? So let's not be hypocritical, shall we?

Incidentally, my partner & I were in Massachusetts this past September, and visited the very places where Paul Revere rode, and were told details of his ride, seeing the very place where it began. I previously posted the pics here. And the history is nothing like Palin said.

I don't expect her to be a History Professor, but if she's gonna choose to use a reference from famous US history, don't you think she should get it right? Is that asking too much of someone who aspires to the US Presidency?

    Oh CJ icon_biggrin.gif

    It's not obsession I have
    It's amusement
It's like when I go see me four year old niece dance in her ballet recitals
I laugh and chuckle .... and say Oh isn't she the cutest thing ?
But ... of course I know she can't dance in the Bolshoi icon_wink.gif

Yes, it would be nice if Ms. Palin referred to those and many other sources of information in order to better educate herself.
Maybe then she wouldn't make such dumbass statements!

I agree, I mean down here in Oz, we are still asking of Obama "were the bloody hell are ya mate?" After promising to come down twice and not showing up and not considering the the cost and expense, to the tax payers of Oz, as well the inconvenience to the people of Sydney for their city being put into lock down.; I myself find him disrespectful, and love nothing more than to see the back of him. because his a prat.

Perhaps, like Ms. Palin, you need to brush up on your facts. I don't think I am one to ever criticize President Obama. In fact, I'm actually quite supportive of President Obama. I just think it's funny that Sarah Palin hiccups in the wrong direction and there's a media meltdown about it. Oh the horrors, Sarah got a fact wrong about Paul Revere. 90% of the country probably has no idea who Paul Revere even is, but let's rake Sarah over the coals just because it's become liberal sport. icon_rolleyes.gif

Tries to get it right the 2nd time, fails.

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2011/06/sarah-palin-paul-revere-defends-herself-/1"He warned the Americans that the British were coming, the British were coming, that we 've got to make sure we were protecting ourselves and shoring up all of our ammunitions and firearms so that they couldn't take it," Palin said.

The website for the Paul Revere House in Boston has an account of what happened the night of April 18, 1775. It explains that Revere was instructed to ride from Boston to Lexington to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that "British troops were marching to arrest them."

The Paul Revere House also says the rider warned "the regulars are coming out" and didn't say "the British are coming."

Isn't there resounding historical evidence that Paul Revere's midnight ride never actually happened?

For one, I would actually watch the hagiography of Sarah Palin to see what it's all about (with the 2x play speed and the right-arrow for fastforwarding, of course). Maybe I'll be brainwashed by the end like Alex.icon_lol.gif

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0611/56280.htmlFilmmaker rescues Sarah Palin from 'vile'
The director of “The Undefeated,” a glowing new film about Sarah Palin, said he plans to release an “X-rated” version of the film to better convey “vile” comments about her from sources including celebrities and obscure Twitter users.
    ...
A film critic for the conservative New York Post – the sister publication of Palin’s employer, Fox News - broke the filmmaker’s embargo Sunday to release a scalding pan. The reviewer, Kyle Smith, compared “The Undefeated” to “the brainwash movie Alex is forced to sit through in ‘A Clockwork Orange.’”

“I’d sooner have watched a Michael Moore movie,” he wrote.

Malcolm MacDowell used to be so hot.
