I know this isn't a gay subject, but the story resounds as far as I'm concerned. John Wooden stood for equality and respect and deserves recognition.

He was the greatest basketball coach in the history of the NCAA!
His teams were fully integrated before many other programs.

He also was a great philosopher. There are so many quotes I use from him during my day to day life. I forgot, he died exactly one year ago right?

John Wooden's Seven Point Creed,[88] given to him by his father Joshua upon his graduation from grammar school:

    Be true to yourself.
    Make each day your masterpiece.
    Help others.
Drink deeply from good books, especially the Bible.
    Make friendship a fine art.
Build a shelter against a rainy day.
Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day.
