Today my best friend surprised me.

While I was cooking in the kitchen at his place (he doesn't cook so I cook for him and myself), I sent him to my house to get my Tupperware. When I came back home, my whole kitchen was cleaned (hadn't had time to clean in the past few weeks) and it took me a few seconds to realize as I came in lol. I think this was the best surprise I've had in a long time.

I've had a few boyfriends in the past few years but none of them ever did anything remotely like this for me. This had somehow hit a soft spot in my heart. I am truly lucky to have my best friend by my side.

    Just thought I'd share that.

    Sounds like a keeper...unless he's OCD.

Yeah, I had a gay friend who was a bit OCD about clean kitchens, but not really with other things. He'd come over to my place with his partner, maybe other friends would be there, too, and while the rest of us were watching TV, maybe having drinks, sitting around talking, he's be cleaning my kitchen!

Which wasn't like an immediate necessity, we weren't using it, that I found mildly embarrassing & insulting in front of my guests. And then he'd come out to join the rest of us, announcing that my kitchen was "clean now" like I was supposed to thank him for something I didn't want done. I always found that very strange.

He likes things clean but he's not OCD.

I had to laugh a little bit about your comment Art_Deco.

I think we love each other as friends for sure. Will it go beyond that? Somehow I doubt it. He's into guys who are tall and the bear type, and I am short and defined. At the same time, I am afraid to bring this up because I don't want to ruin this friendship we have.

Very nice. Most wouldn't put themselves out that way. He really wanted to thank you. Great you have such consideration from a friend.

I do this all the time for people. Leave me alone in your house for ten minutes and I will go into Monica Gellar mode.

Im a clean freak though, so its more for me than them.

Thats why the simple things in life can bring so much joy.
For him it was so easy to clean up your kitchen.
For you it was so easy to cook a meal for you two.

Uhhh, a question that has gone unasked: when you say you hadn't cleaned in weeks, what does that mean? Were there dishes in the sink that had gone unwashed for weeks?

Well the short version is that I hadn't cleaned in weeks because I worked out a bit more than usual for a few weeks but this is slowing down now.

No I do the dishes every day usually but this time they were left there for 2 or 3 days.

LOL! I would not like to come home to a chihuahua , as cute as it could have been. I just do not have money or time to take care of a pet right now.
