Now does everyone remember me stating that he's a horrible liar? Yeah, it was obvious.

Oh and Maddow, you can now stop weaving outlandish "innocence" scenarios and just face the facts like everyone else.

    A) It's still entirely plausible that Weiner did not tweet the picture to that young woman in Seattle. In fact, if Brietbart's claims are true (and given that nearly every claim he's made from Shirley Sherrod to Acorn to Planned Parenthood have been later proven false or the product of deceptive editing, I'm not holding my breath), they suggest that had he been interested in send such pics to this woman, he would have done so via this email and not Twitter.

    B) Many people on this site, including the OP, have pics that are similarly graphic in nature, that they may or may not share with others. I'm sure there are people savvy enough to hack the RJ site and send those pictures to the world without any context.

    C) Weiner never said the picture wasn't him (now we know why), he simply said he didn't send it to that young woman in Seattle. This "expose" in no way proves that he did.

omg christian, seriously? Just look at the chat! It is entirely IMPLAUSIBLE, given these new pictures and chatting evidence that his account was in fact "hacked" as he claims.

The point is not that Weiner has done something more egregious than similar acts done by the rest of the population, it's that he's lying about it and when politicians blatantly lie instead of owning up to what they do it automatically casts a shadow on their integrity as a politician overall.

How old is Weiner's weiner? I thnk he is mid 50s or so, best I recall. Man, if he's having those kind of difficulties with uncontrollable woodies at that age - more peenie power to him.

    But!

Democrat who gets caught a-whoring: maybe a slap on the wrist and some press time in the local rags.

Republican who gets caught a-whoring: demands for resignations, witch hunts, and public crucifixions in the press.

Both are bad, mind you...but the same standards should be held for all.

    Bullshit.

Republicans make a big show of upholding "family values" and imposing them on others, while the Democrats do not. It is the hypocrisy element that draws the "extra" criticism.

That depends on the "republicans" you're talking about, but yes it is true that many do try to impose certain "family values" on the population. Many democrats try to do the same thing though, but in a different way with things they consider "right".

I agree with Upper Canadian's response to this post by alpha.
    'Bullshit"!!!!

    E.G.
    There were two "Love Guv"s:
    1.) NY Gov. Elliott Spitzer
    2.) SC Gov. Mark Sanford
Spitzer was brutally hounded by the media and forced by the Democratic party to resign.
Sanford was given a pass by the media and the Repub party allowed him to stay in office and finish his term.
(And, FYI - Sanford lied about his mistress to the people of SC and made up shit about some hiking trip, when he was really in South America banging his mistress on the taxpayer dime. So, it was more than just cheating.)

Arnold cheats on his wife with hundreds of other women and that just makes him a bit of a rogue according to Repubs - and they elect him Gov. of CA.
Arnold bangs and impregnates his housekeeper in his own home behind the backs of his wife and children, and Repubs say that a person's personal life shouldn't be dragged out into the public.

But this Weiner nonsense comes along and suddenly the Repubs get back up on their high horses and start making moral judgements?

    Can you say HYPOCRITE?
    And say it LOUD!

Yikes. If true, pretty indiscreet and stupid for a political figure. That said, I think he'll survive it politically - though his marriage may not.

Democrats don't get crucified because they don't cram "family values" and religion down everyones throats. Republicans do. Therefore, Republicans get crucified for their hypocrisy. Practice what you preach. And don't preach what you don't practice.

And still after admitting partially since there's no place to turn he clings on to some bullshit about how the picture was meant as a "joke". Oh yes, I'm sure it was meant as a joke and had nothing to do with erotic fantasies like all your other ones!

I thought it was dispicable how Edwards treated his wife Elizabeth during her cancer crisis. IMHO He lacks basic human decency. No love loss here for John Edwards. Has nothing to do with "family values." More along the lines of human decency.

True, Edward's behavior was way worse than Weiner's weiner. I just wonder if congress' px plan pays for cialis? He sounds like was still doing pretty well for his age.

I didn't see the Facebook stuff until after I posted. I also don't just believe any image that is posted on a blog, or even most newspapers. In an age of photoshop, I need more proof than that. Of course, Weiner has now confessed and joined the long line of sleazy politicians who can't keep it in their pants.

It was pretty obvious he was guilty as soon as he said that he couldn't say with "certitude" if the picture was in fact of him.

But moving on, I wonder how many people reveling over this exposure and claiming that he should resign because of this behavior are engaging in the same type of stuff secretly. In fact, it'd be interesting to know how many pulling out judgments are probably guilty of far worse, like actually physically cheating on their spouses. At least he was honorable enough to keep everything cyber and not actually cheat on his wife physically.

Of his character overall though, he really irks me. He's got the most annoying and arrogant attitude all the time.

I think more than anything it's just shocking that a politician isn't smarter to know that posting something on Twitter or Facebook from your own account is bound to come back and bite you in the ass. The one good thing that might come from this is that it should, at least for a little while, wipe away that smug arrogance Weiner is known for.

Did Weiner seriously think that this won't come out, especially when the listed name of those written messages is of himself??? If there is any reason this guy should no longer serve and should resign, it's because he's that stupid.
