I am traveling to St. Augustine next week with the family! Curious if anyone had any good suggestions on things to do or must see places while I'm there! Thanks!

Sorry man. Not too familiar with that area. If you were coming to Tampa, Brandon or Orlando I could help you out but SA is 3 hrs north of me.

There is plenty to do in St Augustine. I recommend visiting the Castillo de San Marcos, Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, The alligator farm, and Fort Matanzas. You will also want to spend an afternoon walking around St George Street. There is also a Ghost tour, which I have never done, but i have heard good reviews. The lighthouse is worth a visit if you run out of other things to do, but it isn't something I would be disappointed about missing. I'm not a beach person myself, so I really can't comment on the quality of the local beaches. If I think of anything else I will add it to this thread.

What did you have in mind for the area? The guys above me have posted what it's about, pretty much.

Ponte Vedra Beach is north of St. Augustine and is kinda nice.

The Castillo is cool, Anastasia State Park/Beach is probably one of the best in our area. San Sebastian Winery does tours and tastings- always a favorite of mine. St. George street is very cool. a few good hole-in-the-wall restaurants..

As far as entertainment goes, Ripley's is always pretty fun, as well as the Alligator Farm. Just south of St Auggie is Marineland. a less expensive Sea World/ Discovery Cove.

Jacksonville has some decent nightlife at best. Plenty of places that rent out kayaks, boats etc to keep you busy.

How long are you down for?

Is Marineland still there? I thought it had closed a few years back. I was going to mention it in my post, but I wasn't sure it was still in operation.

might want to look it up first.
if you are willing to drive, up near the fl/ga border there are a bunch of barrier islands that you can kayak out to. including Cumberland Island (google it) Awesome places.

I'm having flashbacks of Jacksonville and the whole '1st coast' of Florida and am just laughing myself right now. It's so different than the south where I'm from. Thing that always got me were the accents. Like, are you from Alabama? Oh Jacksonville!

Anyway I won't hate...enjoy your trip, I could use being by some water right now I'm about to dry out like a snail here LOL.
