I'm just surprised how well Boston has been playing after that shitty start.

I'm not, actually. They spent a lot of money last winter to get a star-studded team. Star players with big egos take a while to gel, but once they do, they make good teams.

The Yankees will still trash them, though.

Lester is pitching shitty but the sox offense through 9 is to damn good. only outs are marco and jd. and loosing tex was a big lose for the yanks becauses he's swinging a mean bat

Yeah, losing Tex hurts. And Freddy is, well... fucking Freddy. The Yanks can still come back from this.

You guys need a big bat spark, part with joba and get a true dh, maybe beltran or vlad

I'm not sure... This would be a good short-term solution, but a mistake both teams keep making is losing sight of the long-term. I'm fine holding off till Montero comes up. I think we can make do in the meantime. The last thing we need is older players with inflated egos.

I'm with the camp that hasn't entirely given up on Joba. Or Phil, for that matter. We have some good prospects, though. And the problem is that almost any deal will involve giving up minor league players that I would absolutely hate to see go.

And, that said, FUCK. Two-run HR just now.

Yeah, Pence is a good option. But I basically don't think the Yankees are really in any need to go into panic mode. We're still on top of the division. They're playing well. They spent the 2000s panicking and going after big name free agents. See what good that did them. I'm a strong believer in building up the farm system and holding on to your top prospects. PEnce is young. So he has that going for him. But there's no need to start making too many moves just yet.

I still think you're one bat away, pitching has been good but biz z in chicago is available and prob for lesser prospects
