I liked the video, but it also visualized that some gay men, during their struggle with their sexuality, still carry these purely conjectured latent ideas of what gay means. I hoped people were well beyond thinking in restrictive gender-role ideologies who don't need a video such as this to break them free of those preconceptions.
It also reminded me of all the guys I've met, especially the frat guys, who have these strange ideas of what "gay" means: that somehow it signifies more a matrix of mannerisms and interests rather than sexual orientation. This has been a major rocky point for many closeted gay men who share ideas such as the ones I just mentioned about what it means to be an out gay man. To think that, to this day, we still need a video such as this to remind gay men that homosexuality strictly identifies what gender you are attracted to, nothing more, indicates that we still have a major image problem.
But do not get me wrong, I love the video, and it was not my intent to be critical of it. I'm just saying it reminded me of some things that I had forgotten since I came to think of them as non-issues. When in fact those problems still persist, and the video was just serving to remind me of them.
