I liked the video, but it also visualized that some gay men, during their struggle with their sexuality, still carry these purely conjectured latent ideas of what gay means. I hoped people were well beyond thinking in restrictive gender-role ideologies who don't need a video such as this to break them free of those preconceptions.

It also reminded me of all the guys I've met, especially the frat guys, who have these strange ideas of what "gay" means: that somehow it signifies more a matrix of mannerisms and interests rather than sexual orientation. This has been a major rocky point for many closeted gay men who share ideas such as the ones I just mentioned about what it means to be an out gay man. To think that, to this day, we still need a video such as this to remind gay men that homosexuality strictly identifies what gender you are attracted to, nothing more, indicates that we still have a major image problem.

But do not get me wrong, I love the video, and it was not my intent to be critical of it. I'm just saying it reminded me of some things that I had forgotten since I came to think of them as non-issues. When in fact those problems still persist, and the video was just serving to remind me of them.

    This is an awesome video.

First it reminds me why I hate living in this rural bible thumping town. There is no gay sports teams, clubs or anything. There is a gay bear club that is an hour away & thats it. Definitely there are benefits of living in a large city to access these many variety of clubs.

Secondly it made me realize again how there are so many sub groups in our gay world. I dont seem to fit into many of the gay areas. Im color blind so fashion & decorating are out, lol. Guess I didnt get that gene. I dont act fem so most gays that might see me out & about have no idea. I have kids to occupy my life & time, & im a tshirt & jeans kinda guy, dont really dress up or think to much about it or fucking care.

1 of my passions since a teenager has been the male physique obviously, lol. Studying it through photography in an artistic way & working out in a bodybuilding way might be the closest gay relativity I have in my life. Thus the membership on RJ. Ive cancelled my membership here a few times out of frustration of no one in my area wants to be just "friends" & the flame wars on the forums get on my nerves but I always come running back because truth is, I dont fit in anywhere else.

Theres a straight guy at work that plays rugby and he is drop dead gorgeous. Ive been tempted to ask him if I could play but to be completely honest im not sure if theyd want a gay guy on the team...very homophobic around here & secondly to be completely blunt about it Im not sure if i could control my emotions or arousalness being grabbed, tackled & that close to so many hot beautiful men all at once. Lmao
