With all the Weiner threads... can you only imagine if this was 1992.... and it was the evening after the Gennifer Flowers announcement???

With our right wing friends in a frenzy over Weiner and what he may or may not have done... Demands for his resignation (which I agree with because he is an actively serving public official..)

Imagine for a moment if this had been the winter of 1992 (and RJ existed) with the same characters that are here today and Gennifer Flowers had just been made. SB, Socal and the rest would have a dozen theads going demanding a list of the women Clinton had, pics of Flowers...
God if Weiner's threads here are bad... and the Palin woman, I could only imagine.....

And of course Clinton was elected for two terms icon_biggrin.gif

And to be fair I would assume if RJ existed at the time of Nixon and
a "Watergate" were discovered the progressives would be talking about the horror of Nixon...and how he should resign... oh whoops, he did..... LOL

Why go back that far? Just remember the recent scandals of Ensign and Lee--how many threads dealt with them? And how many with Weiner now?

(Yeah, the name's unfortunate...I try to pronounce it like the Germans but the guy himself does it like "wee-ner")

Why do the Democrats not push investigations on scandals? E.g. The one on Ensign (and his enabler Coburn)

Maddow has a great piece on the double standard from Vitter to Weiner. Why are Cantor and Priebus calling on Weiner to resign but they never did for Vitter or Ensign.

I never imagined that I would ever say this, but I am so tired of hearing about Weiner.

This might be a revelation to some, but consider Weiner's own activity led to the number of threads, compared to a Chris Lee who simply apologized and resigned. Weiner went through some phases, each created discussion:
    1) Joked while lying e.g. "sorry I was a bit stiff yesterday". Called lawyers lol
    2) Angry while lying e.g. "do you want to answer the questions, or shall I?"
    3) Decided to shut up - Did that last for a day?
    4) "Sincere" lying - from his office having called media in individually
    5) Tearful admission. Not sorry for what he did including lying but that he was caught. And of course CNN and MSNBC talked over Breitbart's portion. Did they fear their audience/sheep hearing a different viewpoint?

Plus additional discussion on the content of his correspondence and the women who came forward

Theater generates threads, including the one I started in disgust over some RJers saying it was no big deal - the actions and the theater.

Even more theater than Rangel who walked out of his hearing.

Well, if you needed a thread per women, then there would be dozens of threads. Maybe we could have agreed to ten women per thread to save bandwidth.

    +1

Driving home from the gym tonight, every news channel on XM - MSNBC, CNN, FOX, HLN. They have to run it into the ground until ratings fall
