Hey guys, so i've exhausted my search on craigslist and facebook and have decided to try on here. If anyone's looking for someone to rent a room out, 1 year lease, starting July 1st in manhattan or brooklyn please let me know.

I've been accepted to grad school in brooklyn (just found out last week) and need to find a place right away, program starts july 5th. My problem is that i live in chicago and it's really difficult to rent from random individuals from here.

So if anyone is seeking a roommate or knows someone looking for one and would be willing to talk on the phone about the room or even skype, send me the info.

    thanks!

Sorry, I don't know of anyone right now. Have you talked to anyone at grad school who could provide assistance?

It's hard to find a place in NYC when you are living out of town (which I tried to do). I finally just bought a plane ticket here and made appointments to see places (but by the time I arrived a room opened up at a friend's place).

You could also try a shorter term sublease and then start looking. It's much easier once you live here.

Ha, you'd think all nyc schools would have off campus resources but Nope! lol

Yea, i lived there for 5 years so i may just go crash with a friend a week early and just search for a place. I'll just have to move twice which im trying to avoid.

But if i can find a place online, then sweet!

Yikes good luck, I cane find a place that cheap on long island unless its a basement apartment.

U might have some luck in Brooklyn, but I think Manhattan is way more expensive

mainly looking for a room to rent, in a 2,3, or 4br apt. They exist.

I know I can't even get a studio for that price in the nice parts of brooklyn.
