Too late to say it now, but you did it wrong.
1.5 years ago I was kinda fat, at 230 lbs. Now I'm between 165-170 lbs (haven't weighed in a couple weeks).
The trick is doing weight training, muscle building, and light cardio to build muscle while SLOWLY losing the fat. Then when the fat is gone, it's replaced by definition. It's a long process, but much faster than losing the weight first then trying to build definition...building mass for definition takes years.
Oh well, now ya know. Eat a lot and train hard...and be patient.
