He may have apologized, but something like this makes it difficult to accept an apology:

"He said if his son that was gay he better come home and talk to him like a man and not [he mimicked a gay, high pitched voice] or he would pull out a knife and stab that little N (one word I refuse to use) to death."

    Not funny at all.

"if you can take a dick you can take a joke" is from a song. so it wasn't even original material either! lmao

i agree, kids should have a self defense rule or something, someones bullying you to no end knock them out. i flipped out on someone in school who was bullying me for days and was told "do something like this again and you're kicked out of summer school" all i was doing was yelling at him. they didn't do anything about his behavior.

i dont see why they bother with these bullshit public apologies. he still said what he said.

Of course the half assed apology only comes after the heat gets turned up too. It's all calculation. What a bigot.

    Signed,

    One of God's mistakes.

true, lol, I actually had to google to see what show he's on. I've heard of him, but not very well known in my book. But still, he's on TV. A-holes like him should not even get That chance....

He does a show called Scare Tactics; he "kicks it" with rappers that kids adore and he just voiced a bulldog on a kid's movie called "Rio." I hope none of his new child fans hear him say he'd stab a child.

I usually am very forgiving and understanding when pubic figures slip up and say ignorant/hateful/dumb shit. However, this incident (like Michael Richards) is nearly unforgivable. There was no punchline, let alone a clever one, so there was NO "joke" he can hide behind.

What an ass. I hate this especially from blacks who of all people should identify with gays from a discrimination stand point.

The apology is not from him. Its from his publicist who sees dollar signs flying out the window. Bigotry doesn't change because of a press release.

Lol I can totally understand where your coming from here (not really because I'm white but I hope you feel me). African Americans are just as likely to be discriminatory as the damn white folks. Him being black has nothing to do with this incident.

Omg please do get over yourself,He actually does have a point. You're acting as if he is trying to start a conversation about Cheesecakes,Which would be something irrelevant to the discussion.

I'm anxious to see what reaction Tina Fey would have. She built him up. Maybe it's time to let him go.

Sure he has a point, but it's not a point that leads in a productive direction. I have a problem with what he said for the following reasons.

1.)Black people are not homophobic, religious people are.

2.)The idea that oppression makes you less likely to play into oppressive systems is fantasy

3.)Even if the idea made sense, it never gets applied to white people despite that fact that if they were irish, italian, polish, etc......they got shit too once upon a time. It never gets applied to asians or latinos or......anyone, except blacks.

4.) someone is going to bring up the fact that the currents of homophobia in the black community are similar to the currents of racism in the gay community which..

a.) knocks the whole "oppressed people shouldn't oppress" theory out of the box

b.) causes one to wonder if a group with so much dirty laundry should be so preoccupied with trying to wash someone elses.

5.) It's nothing new- the statement didn't introduce anything new that anyone doesn't already know

6.) The statement is inflammatory and will probably cause some type of debate that has nothing to do with tracy morgan or what he said.

To me, the ability of the comment to contribute anything good to the forum vs. its ability to generate an argument about things people already have rehashed over and over again......it just didn't seem to help us move forward.

Too late for a lame apology. This is how he really feels. He may as well salvage some shred of integrity and own his words. I never had any use for his sort of humour anyway.

Good riddance to him. And if Tina keeps him on her show after this...........
