My cat Indy (short for Indiana Jones) was my son's cat. He was chasing away a stray and ran into traffic this morning. We just finished burying him in the garden.

My boy, born in Ottawa, now rests on an Island off the east coast. He ended his life hundreds of miles frm the place of his birth. He was a well travelled cat.

He was polite, quiet, and not very bright, He was my sweet simpleton.

I love you, Indy, and you will always live in my heart.

Sorry for your loss. I know how it feels. Lost two pets in the last year myself.

Sorry to hear about this. I love animals and I don't think we ever get over losses like this. I still remember dogs from my childhood who got run over.

Sorry about your feline friend, OP. Pets bring so much happiness into our lives, even in their memory. Take care of yourself.

Oh man. I always want to say something to make the person feel better in a time like this, but the reality is....nothing can be said to make this into a happy day. So many inescapable emotions that wash over us when we lose someone. All you can do is allow time to pass and let yourself feel the emotions as they come up. icon_sad.gif

So very sorry to hear about this. You have my deepest sympathy. icon_cry.gif
We are lucky enough to have dogs and cats in our lives for the short time we do normally.
Just know that "Indy" had a good life with you.
    Warmest of regards,
    Tristan

I send tons of love and empathy. I have lost at least 10 animals to the highway out here in front of my house. I know nothing will get rid of the pain because it feels like you lost a child but at least he did not suffer from that or some other sickness. Just be thankful for the little things and then in a few months you will probably have a sweet adorable little kitten in your home that will make you just as happy as your previous kitty.icon_smile.gif

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm a crybaby when it comes to cats and I shed a couple of tears when I saw. I am sure that your feline friend had an amazing life while he was with you, hope you can remember all the amazing happiness you brought into his life. I know random condolences may seem to fall short, but know that there are a lot of guys who are keeping you and your family in our thoughts.

I certainly don't want to hijack a memorial thread, but dude......if that many of your pets are being killed, you should not have pets!

Losing a pet is so hard, whether it is by choice due to age and illness or by accident. We cried for days when we had to put our old boy down. Not having the chance to say good bye and hold his paw while it happens would rip my heart out.

Exactly. icon_mad.gif This is what happens when careless owners ...well you are right. Not the time or place. icon_redface.gif
