Locker Room Eye Contact - How long is too long?

Ok so I'm in the gym yesterday, and I come out of the shower and heading back to my locker when I notice one of the hottest guys I have ever seen looking right at me.

I look up, and our eyes meet, and after about 5 seconds the locker room eye contact rule got to me and my eyes darted in the opposite direction. I am trying to act casual so as not to appear to be staring at this incredibly hot nude body. As I am getting dressed, intentionally trying not to look, I happen to look up in the mirror and see him again and again there is like 3 seconds of eye contact. This happened probably 3 additional times after the first prolonged eye contact event. Coincidentally I get out to the parking lot and discover he is parked next to me...wtf? Now it always seems to me that locker room eye contact is limited to one very brief second by some sort of universally accepted locker room social rule. So whats up when stuff like this happens...is it possible this guy is checking me out and doing the eye contact thing intentionally to try to tell me something in a not so subtle way? If I see him in the locker room again and the time and distance seem appropriate, I am going to have to try to make a little small talk and see what his deal is. What do you guys think?

That's when you were supposed to smile really big and toothy and say "Hi". You missed an opportunity. Maybe it will come again. He probably thinks you're not interested now. You shot his ego all to pieces.

5 seconds...3 seconds...those are long time to be making steady eye contact. If someone maintained that kind of contact with me, I'd be greeting him.

ya, I agree with Cas...if you're getting 5 and 3 seconds of eye contact, he might as well be kissing you.

Though, for me...5 seconds of eye contact means I've basically just had a first date.

I don't think so - it's just the first step in a time-honored gay (disco) dance that can be resumed when they run into each other again.

Five and three seconds of eye contact where I come from means I'm making room for his stuff in my closets!

Seriously though - I'd look around for him on my next workout and go up and strike up a conversation. If he called me on not saying anything the first day, I'd just admit to being kind of shy at first (who would think that of me, but it's true!)

no no..jockbod...you can't talk to him!

keep up the creepy, quasi-sexual eye contact in the locker room.

don't let this guy think you wanna be friends for god's sake!

geez! how are we ever gonna hear any good hot locker room sex stories of they talk in the weight room and then go out for coffee?

and yes, Cas....I am always horny, lol

I think you need to say hi. 5 second stare in a locker room... you might as well be married.

Tommy, by that time I'd have you out in my car icon_twisted.gif

Actually Tommy, If I had seen somebody like you in that locker room, I would never have let you leave without some convo and a phone number!

Oh yeah, I'm with these guys. Better say hi next time or he'll definitely lose interest.

Three seconds is a loooong time actually, especially for a supposedly heterosexual male. Such a look warrants some sort of active response. Try it - pick a spot on the wall, fix on it and say "one Mississippi two Mississippi three Mississippi" then blink. See?

He probably thinks you are totally straight since you didn't really make a move. No guts, no glory.

If you are a troll, apparently, 1 second is too long.
When I catch the trolls looking, I ham it up a little: flex, stare back, puff up; I put on a little show for them. Why not, they are just as much my sister as some buff stud.

um....proceed with caution!! some guys are just starers...straight or gay. There used to be this straight guy in my school who would always stare into your eyes for like 2 or 3 seconds, he did it to everyone! some peope dont even realise they are doing it

well, i guess i'm one of those guys who are just starers ...

because i love to stare ... at cute guys ... or pretty goodlooking guys ... whether in the gym ... or in the malls ... almost everywhere ...

but i don't stare at "hot guys" ...

i guess there is a big difference between "hot guys" and "cute guys" ...

unless the guy is both hot and cute, then thats a different story ...

    what do you think?

well, i try to be discreet but sometimes i just can't help it ... if the guy is really super cute ... i end up staring at him all the time when i have the chance ... lol ...

my friends sometimes tell me that its kind of creepy to stare all the time ... but i tell myself "who cares" ... since i will not be able to see that cute guy again ... specially when i visit other states or cities ... seeing a super cute guy in a particular state or city is like once in a lifetime ... so i stare and enjoy all the way ... ha ha ha ...

I started working out a new gym and I get a lot of that. I'll give a greeting as we walk past, but I'm still trying to get to a familiarity with the place. I'm an observer of people.

Was he looking AT you, or was he looking THROUGH you?

and how come we don't have an update yet? Have you been sexing this guy for the last two days (2 days? it seems like longer since you posted this thread), and just not telling us about it? If you are truly young, hung and in SFSD whatever that means, then I think you owe us a juicy story by now, mister!

yep, i had a straight guy in high school stare for 5 seconds many times (even during the same class), not only that, but he stroked my chest, joked around about making out, and even kissed me on the cheek in front of the class (9th grade). alas, i tried making my move at 9th grade graduation by stroking his arm (without drawing any attention of course) but he didn't seem to notice. i came out to him my senior year, but he is a hardcore christian now, so he had a somewhat negative reaction. i think he is engaged at the moment. i guess some guys are just big flirts/ teases.icon_sad.gif

I'd be curious... I'd want to know. I'd strike up a conversation about something just to see what happened.
