My Cardio addiction...

I'm posting this under "General" because its about both Cardio and Strength training.

Ever since high school (where I was on the track and soccer teams) I have really, really enjoyed running and calisthenics. Whenever I try to incorporate weights into my routine, I am all at once disgusted by how little I can lift and distracted with visions of running along the Charles River, where I feel like I'm on top of the world.

So, I am reaching out to the RJ community for tips and advice on how to begin to develop my atrociously neglected upper body in ways that I can stick with and which (hopefully) don't fill me with self-consciousness at the gym (e.g. using free weights while the 245 lb muscle monsters glare at me for intruding into their kingdom with my tiny arms)

I've been told to cut back on the cardio, but I don't think I can do that.. I LOVE spending up to two hours jogging along a quiet route or on a treadmill. I realize its not optimal for building muscle, but until I'm doing something to build those muscles, I can't shake this feeling that the only "real" exercise I'm getting is when I run my ass off.

Anyhow, what have ye all to say?
