I attended an advanced screening today and was thoroughly disappointed. It is no surprise since shitty movies usually don't open early for reviews until a few days before it officially opens. GL wasn't open for reviews until today...

Ryan Reynolds is awfully hot tho.

You should still watch it. I mean its still entertainment. Just don't be waiting in no long lines. Harry Potter is going to be amazing. I am going to catch an advance screening for that too. Can't wait for my tickets to arrive.

It's obvious from the trailer and also from the box office predictions.

Looks like a cheaply made SEGA video game.

Aintitcool.com said it was disappointing, but not quite "epic fail". They said it became satisfying, although not soon enough, and that hopefully it will find itself with the sequal(s)

Actually, box office projections expects the movie to rack in a fat profit and I am sure it will. Much like the hangover 2.

I didn't like Thor.... Chris Hemsworth wore way, way too many clothes in the movie.

Is there sufficient nudity/Ryan Reynolds shirtless to justify $8.00 for a ticket?

That proves nothing except how bad other people are at determining the quality of a film from the preview.

I agree. It looked like a big steamy pile o' dookie from the start.
The goofy "I'm sensitive" or whatever face that was that Reynolds
kept making drove me insane. I wanted to punch him in the neck
and tell him to at least TRY to pretend like he knows how to act!icon_rolleyes.gif

    lol

I thought there would've been licensing issues between Marvel and DC since Ryan is also set to play Deadpool in an upcoming movie. Im gonna be honest, the trailer made it look super polished and good. icon_neutral.gif I guess Ill watch it on the weekend. I didnt expect Thor to be as good as it was, and I expected a bit more from X-Men. As of late the superhero fad has been a hit or miss.

    Yay 4:
    X-Men: FC
    Thor
    Ironman
    Watchmen (i liked it)

    Nay 4:
    Punisher
    Iron Man 2
    Batman Begins (dodges bullets)
    Wolverine Origins

Both Disney and WB are digging into their marvel and dc character vault to make as many movies as possible.

icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif Ha Ha! My sentiments exactly...

Gay dudes aren't really interested in "Quality" film production when Ryan Reynolds is involved, wearing a skintight costume throughout...!

I was looking at this earlier today:

    http://blog.movies.yahoo.com/blog/1556-green-lantern-cost-300-million-and-you-know-what-that-means

Damn was it that bad? Eh...then I don't think I'll watch it.

Green Lantern got a 20% rating on Rotten Tomatoes... which is terrible! I think that's the worst rating I've seen on that site.
Too bad, I was really looking forward to it.
The greatest Green Lantern was when Mike Grell was illustrating it in the late 70s. GreenLantern090-00.jpgicon_smile.gif

Doesn't matter though. Subway's having a contest where I can win a green Dodge Challenger. If not for this flop, I wouldn't be eating out a lot more this summer. icon_lol.gif

The movie will be profitable, but don't forget that a film released in the summer time must do a lot more than make $100M. In today's Hollywood, a summer release is not a blockbuster (as this is advertised to be) unless it makes upward of $150M-200M. In that case, the film is not gonna do very well.

KUNG FU PANDA 2 is being called a disappointment although it has made $130M already!
