won't get much traction here, given that quite a few americans believe that the un is right up there with the commies and the antichrist.

Most of America only makes decisions in the short run. The intelligentsia always wins in the end. They make us fight for every inch and it is a battle but reason is triumphant. Sometimes you just have to let the old people die. icon_wink.gif

To think there have been people who thought and were to also preach that with time and death, religion would also move way for something more progressive; but it's never gonna happen because there are the young to replace the old and keep the big wheel a turning; even in politics.

Still can't figure out why would one, should one support the UNicon_question.gif They were here in Oz the UN not long ago, telling us we should be letting our illegal immigrants rome free, without even being processed first. What delusional. protective bubble do they liveicon_question.gif

Great. They acknowledged we should have rights, but won't be doing anything to actually help us get those rights. I don't think they are going to authorize a military mission on Uganda to protect gay people anytime soon.

It's a meaningless gesture to me.

i'm sure its a small step. it won't help until the status quo (old farts) are taken out of power or overthrown. time for them to step aside and let us younger generations take over. Have you seen our senate and congress its like night of the living dead icon_eek.gif

But, but... I thought I was kinda gay-friendly. southbeach1500 here always calls me a "liberal hen" for supporting gay rights. I hope I don't have to ride the tumbrel to the guillotine, too, just because I'm an old guy?
