Help, all I can think about is food. This past week the cutting has finally gotten to me.

I had been cutting and losing weight pretty effortlessly for my first month or so and it was easy. Just ate a little less.

But now... I think of food all day long... Guess ill go eat another almond and grab some coffee in the hopes that I make it to lunch.

So how do u guys do it? Any advice? Although I am hungry, I am still very disciplined with my diet.

Also I have a follow-up question. I am 5 foot, 11.5 inches and today I weighed 153.8 lbs in the morning on an empty stomach. A few months ago while bulking I was 175 on an empty stomach in the morning. I am worried that I am getting too light. What is a cutting weight of someone of my size. I still have muscles so I haven't burned them away and my lifts haven't really decreased, so I would assume most if what I lost was fat. But my weight seems low, yet I still don't have lower an definition.

Plz help. I am afraid that by the time I get abs I will b 140 lbs lol.

Haha, I'm with you on thinking about food, it's not all the time, but you know... the only reason I go to bed early is because I look forward to eating again at breakfast?

In any case, you said you've been on this about a month. Have you ever cheated? I say you may wanna try giving yourself a cheat meal or maybe even a cheat day if you feel up to it. Doesn't really do much for your body, it can spike metabolism, but other than that it's more of a mental thing.

As far as dropping weight, don't worry so much, but what kind of diet are you on?

Well I have been cutting a lil more than a month, but yeah. I have cheated a few times, like when I was in Boston for my sister's college graduation we went out for bbq and I got ribs, MAC and cheese, fried okra, ect.

Also sometimes I can't help myself and need sweet stuff b4 bed and binge on fruit. But generally I don't cheat unless I'm forced to. Like when my friends order a pizza and I don't feel like paying double what they paid for a greek salad w chicken.

And I dunno I am trying not to worry about losing too much weight, but if I drop below 150, I would think trays not healthy for someone who is almost 6 foot.

My diet is high in protein and fat (healthy fats mostly except bacon in the morning w eggs)

And my pre and post workout meals contain starchy or grainy cards.

Also I only eat fruit in the morning when liver glycogen is low due to fructose.

I mostly eat eggs, chicken, red meat, veggies, beans, nuts, and dairy.

at 5ft11 153 I think you may have lost too much...you are hungry eat. I think you might want to change your approach. What would be a typical week of meals for you?

If you arent getting the definition you want despite losing 20 plus pounds maybe your gym routine needs to be kicked up a couple notches

well remember guys this is 153 in the morning before eating. So during the day im more like 158. Still it seems low. Also I have seen more definition in my arms and shoulders but my lower ab area still looks the same and obliques.

My meals change every week but here is a typical day:

Meal 1: 2 whole eggs, 1 slice of nitrate free bacon and fruit (cherries, watermelon, blueberries, strawberries)

Meal 2: 2-3 slices of turkey cold cuts and almonds or hummus or avacado

Meal 3 Pre-Workout: brown rice and chicken curry or stir fry

Meal 4: protein shake with skim plus milk (awsome milk has higher protein and calcium than normal milk and tastes good)

Meal 5 post workout: greek salad with chicken, or brown rice and curry/stir fry or steal/pork chop/turkeyburger with baked potato or sweet potato

Meal 6: Same as 5 but less food

Meal 7: Greek yogurt with 1 scoop of watermelon Xtend BCAA supplement and sometimes i put in blueberries/ coconut flakes/ granola if I am craving the sweet food at nite

I also drink a lot of coffee and tea with skim and splenda/sweet and low

In terms of my workout, I think I have a good routine. I can post it if you want, but its a lot more to type. In short I have an app that I log all my workouts in, and I have seen increases in my big lifts, but no real decreases in my 1 rep max. If my 1 rep max does decrease, it normally gets back up in 1 or 2 weeks.

Judgeing from your pics, you don't look too thin, although I was inclined a first to think that your weight was kinda low. I'm 5"6" and weigh 150 pounds and have a 29" waist and people tell me I look too thin!

Cool, thanks, yeah I don't think I look too thin either, but when I told some people what my weight was they were worried.

I think my weight may be lower because maybe I am small boned. I can touch my thumb to all my fingers except the pinky around my wrist. I may just have long fingers tho so i dunno lol.

This. How intense are your workouts what do you do?

Also, do you keep track of what you're taking in through a tracker? I know it sounds tedious and unnecessary but sometimes it can help to do it for a day or two to give yourself an idea of just how much and what you're eating, but your diet does seem pretty balanced and focused on low/good fats.

Also, tomorrow, you're cheating with me ok? No harm. You get a pizza, I'm getting peanut butter cookies. icon_razz.gif

mmm pizza. Or maybe fried chicken haven't had that in a long time!

My workouts r pretty intense, I definitely try to push myself and try to mix up the order and routine every once in a while, but I haven't lately. I don't think I will have to post my whole workout routine, but here is some general info on it.

I split into 5 days typically over 7-8day cycles depending on how much recovery I need and how I feel.

I do abs when I feel like it (approx 2-3x per week) and Cardio on non-lifting days (2-3x per week run, eliptical, bike or swim)

I focus on increasing my strength and 1 rep max on my big lifts (bench presses, deadlifts, squats, shoulder press ect.) and do isolation exercises afterwards

I currently split my days into back, shoulders, chest, legs, and arms

Hmm just had a random thought, I cycled off creatine at about the same time I started cutting, maybe I lost so much weight from losing the water weight that creatine adds to muscles?

Just an idea: Buy a variety of nuts and make your own trail mix. Fill a ziplock bag and carry it around with you to nibble on.

that does seem low... i'm 6 feet and weigh 171 and to the majority of people I'm considered thin. well, minus the legs.

Why be so afraid of eating that your starving. I like the mentality of: "don't eat when you're hungry- eat so you don't get hungry"

Well I pigged out over the weekend due to 2 awesome bbqs and today I was feeling more full from my normal healthy meals today.

So I guess cheating helps... as long as you get back to eating healthy lol.

Also my weight went up a lot from the last time I weighed myself so maybe before I was dehydrated or something to make me extra light. Or maybe I did eat that much over the weekend (lol I doubt it because one lb of fat is 3500 calories, I would have had to eat a lot to gain multiple lbs over a few days)
