Almost sounds too good to be true. I want to do more research on this.
Just wondering, however, if this IS true...why is it not better known???

I didn't watch the video, but I can tell you as a health care professional who has cancer and is going through what the average joe goes through, and seeing it all with my eyes, it really is a business. The hospitals and oncologist, and all of the specialists the oncologists refer cancer patients too, don't want to find a cure for cancer any more than the over-the-counter drug companies want someone to discover a cure for the common cold.

I'm surprised as a healthcare professional that you would say that. Undoubtedly some people get into medicine because they want the prestige and money but a great many other people get into medicine (both clinical and research) to help others and make lives better.

If there was a cure for cancer, it would be available. The same goes for HIV and countless other terminal illnesses.

I feel for this man, he lost his daughter and clearly states he thinks he has a significant share of the blame but rather than taking the blame himself, he wants to blame other people and organizations. That is how conspiracies are born.

Incorrect, for there is no money to be made in a cure.

What makes cancer different from any other disease that has been "cured"? I am pretty sure there was not a lot of money in creating a vaccine for Smallpox and Polio.

I am not a friend to drug companies, but at some point people have to stop being completely ridiculous. If someone found a cure for cancer, it would be made available. If not through big pharma then through someones philanthropy. Cancer research is conducted on the university level as well as independent labs. You can bet they would like to have a patent on a cure for any type of cancer.

What you should be more concerned about is who would be able to afford a cure for cancer. You can bet it's not going to come cheap.

Perhaps you are too young to understand what bariehomeboy is saying from experience. Be open to seeing what goes on around you. Until you are licensed, you may not understand because you are still in the audience watching the charade. His comment is consistent with my years in the biz.

Here is an honest blog by Peter Banos MD to check out to see what you do not understand yet ...... http://tryingforsense.blogspot.com/

    Stanislaw Burzynski and "Antineoplastons"

"Burzynski has never demonstrated that A-2.1 (PA) or "soluble A-10" (PA and PAG) are effective against cancer or that tumor cells from patients treated with these antineoplastons have been "normalized." Tests of antineoplastons at the National Cancer Institute have never been positive. The drug company Sigma-Tau Pharmaceuticals could not duplicate Burzynski's claims for AS-2.1 and A-10. The Japanese National Cancer Institute has reported that antineoplastons did not work in their studies. No Burzynski coauthors have endorsed his use of antineoplastons in cancer patients."

I have some *Alternative* views on AIDS and Cancer, but I will keep it to myself lest I be lambasted as a Consipracy Theorist or Quack or Tinfoil Hat wearer. Let's just say I've seen, heard, read and experienced things, but I only wish more people were made aware of the *truth* icon_eek.gif

Here is a link to the man who invented/created/patented this procedure!

    http://www.burzynskiclinic.com/

The FDA spent over 60 million to bring this man down. How many lives could that have saved alone.

    WAKE UP!!

I loath the FDA> They have a cure for HIV also and have it locked up! Why? You guys can guess I am sure......

However, Dr. Burzynskic's methods can also be used to treat people with cancer related illness due to infectious HIV! BINGO!! CURE!!

This article portion is from one of the doctors who worked in the hospital conducting trials for the NCI. With that being said it was already stated that the NCI was intentionally using lower dosage of the Antineoplastons than intended, thus making that whole quackwatch article biased. However, I still remain skeptical of burzynski and its effectiveness. I don't doubt that it works as it has produced results, though how effective is it really? A lot of the tumors that this was used on were quite small and even the big tumors were surgically removed first.

As for me I would certainly seek this out if I was put in the situation of these people. As far as I know the FDA is still conducting trials for this, by the end of this year it should be done so lets see what happens then.

It's worth a try!! OMG.....My cousin just completed chemotherapy. It nearly disintegrated her heart and fried her brain. I begged them not to and to try this...they are so sorry they didn't go to Huston and at least try it. She has a fast acting lymphoma cancer. His method could have saved her. I am not sure if she will recuperate from chemotherapy. So there you have it

I haven't watched the video or read any of the articles attached herein, so I have no informed opinion on this subject, But playing devil's advocate, I will have to say that you are lacking logic in this argument.

It's called a "confidentiality agreement." Yes, a "researcher" could discover a cure. Then, a pharmaceutical company comes in and buys the patent, makes the researcher rich, but he must sign a strict confidentiality agreement which would make it so that he could never speak of his discovery. This is not unheard of. And to imagine that pharmaceutical conglomerates don't have savvy lawyers is frankly, naive.

I have watched the film and it purports to show some remarkable results, but I think it is important not to hype this and give false hope to desperate people. I cannot imagine that cancer researchers (who, certainly in the UK, are financed primarily through charitable donation and not by drugs companies) would deliberately avoid finding more effective treatments for cancers or be complicit in suppressing the fact they had discovered such treatments. It is typical conspiracy theory BS, I am afraid.
