It's called AGING. Women around 40 are practically infertile. Late thirties and forties is the Autumn of the human life cycle in the modern West. Yes, we can delay deep Winter from setting in, but that doesn't change the fact that we exist in a state of perpetual decline post mid-twenties. Skin loses elasticity, metabolisms slow down, sex hormones drop off, wrinkles set in, the jaw line sags, the eyes look perpetually tired.
Many gay men look like shit, too, after 40. Those that you see online on a site like this typically are anomalies or they wouldn't put themselves in harms way. They have plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures, they take growth hormones and exogenous testosterone. They are not as nature made them to be at 40+
I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky in this area. And it's not because I eat so well, or always get the right amount of sleep or live an upstanding lifestyle. It's just the luck of the genetic draw. My parents are both extraordinary young looking. But I don't have a chip on my shoulder about it nor do I condemn those who look weatherd at 40. That's the rule, not the exception.
Here is the bottom line: One can exercise, eat well, get plenty of rest and STILL LOOK OLD. It's the laws of nature and genetics.
I think in our society aging is considered immoral
. If you look OLD, no matter how old you actually are, you MUST be doing something WRONG. Don't we wish
. We want so much to think we have control over the aging process and that as long as we live a healthy lifestyle, it'll all look perpetually youthful.
It just isn't so.*
**Note that my post says NOTHING about the fact that some older men look old and are STILL considered attractive by some younger men; nor does my post say that EVERY man over 40 looks washed up. I'm speaking, rather in general terms.
