damn you alcohol... I know it needs to be cut down more for me to reach my fitness goals, but it's hard cause I like to go out and have a good time. I have gotten to where I have cut down the bad foods I eat after drinking. Also have gotten to where I try to only drink 5 drinks a week. Any more advice?

People say alcohol makes you gain weight. I'm pretty sure if you eliminate all solid food and just drink, you'll be just fine. You could try that instead.

Don't drink after a workout..like any other sugars. That's the hard one for me because I like to enjoy a moderate workout before social activities. I usually feel really good, and energized afterward.

Continue what you're doing...baby steps. Change one thing/habit at a time as you feel comfortable. That makes the entire fitness journey much more sustainable.

    That's what I'm talking about.

Nothing wrong with a drink, or even a drink after workout. But if the OP is looking for incremental benefits, without teetotalling, that is one strategy. Do it on a non workout day to extend the metabolic and endocrine benefits post work out.

Dr Mercola is very knowledgeable, but can take things to the extreme. He says sugars, shut down the increased growth hormone output from an intense workout. It can last for several hours so the longer you can wait, the better.

I'd rather have the information..but do with it what I will.

If you can't go out and have a good time without alcohol, then your fitness goals are the least of your worries.
