Nothing wrong with a drink, or even a drink after workout. But if the OP is looking for incremental benefits, without teetotalling, that is one strategy. Do it on a non workout day to extend the metabolic and endocrine benefits post work out.
Dr Mercola is very knowledgeable, but can take things to the extreme. He says sugars, shut down the increased growth hormone output from an intense workout. It can last for several hours so the longer you can wait, the better.
I'd rather have the information..but do with it what I will.
