Looking for a workout buddy in NYC. Currently belong to Crunch, but I hate them and would consider joining a different gym if I found a good workout partner. Nice guy here looking to put on some muscle.

Hello, I go to the YMCA, Dodge in Downtown Brooklyn-Atlantic Avenue. I had a really good guy buddy once who is a good friend too. it is hard in NYC to find a buddy because of our busy lifestyle in this city. Finding a buddy who is on the same 'schedule' and at the same gym is not easy. I would be happy to find a buddy too. I like to go in the mornings before work, and early mornings are not everyone's thing.

Hi guys. I'm moving to NYC in April. Not guite sure where I'll be living other than the fact that I'll be in Manhattan and somewhat close to the financial district. I'm hoping to find a place in Chelsea or SOHO, but its kinda up to my employer because they are picking up the tab (thankfully!). Looking for some advice on gyms and interested in finding a workout partner.

I have never been to New York, but it would be interesting to see how many different types of gyms there are.

Oh yeah, it was the earliest thread I could find. We should go back to our roots.

I want to ask about the name "klobasnik". Sounds Russian, is it Russian? I could google it...

Do you go to a NY gym, klobasnik?

    (just googled, it sounds Czech)

It's a play on words. It can be both Czech and Slovakian word, I'm not sure, but maybe phonetically it might be possible to have such a word in Russian (and other Slavic languages).

    I don't go to a NYC gym.

    What about you?

Ah, I see. :-) I go to Fitness First in London or Virgin Active. I don't know what gyms there are in New York. Hahaicon_smile.gif

Crunch is still there. I wonder what improvements they have made.

I notice most of those cost substantially more than $73/mo! icon_wink.gif

At the moment 1 dollar is worth 0.62p so 73 dollars is about £46. That is cheap compared to some gyms in the UK.
