A couple of lucky shots I got today for a new tabletop book. The chipmunk stood still for five minutes while I took pictures. The young male deer came closer to check me out after about twenty minutes of me standing there quietly. His mother hid in the woods behind me, snorting a couple of times to show me who was boss.

You're not supposed to shoot deer out of season.
    Unless it's with a camera.

Nice job. icon_smile.gif We get a lot of squirrels and deer, as well as many other animals in my area as well. I'm not a photographer but I do enjoy nature shots. I have a few Mangelsen's icon_smile.gif

One of the ones in my bedroom is a the biggest one of these:

I wish I could say the same icon_neutral.gif So many deer here. We have an overpopulation problem. That picture is rather tame in comparison to a meat packing plant. But yes, I do empathize with the deer nonetheless, which is why I don't eat beef, lamb, venison, etc.

Beautiful picture, OP. Both of them. Very clear subjects considering all of the roughage you had to shoot against.

What kind of camera are you using to shoot your pics? Telephoto lens? From how far away?

Nice pics, love getting shots like these. Nothing like a good Kodak moment! Nice job!

I took one of those out with my car yesterday in CT. Hopefully, the car should be fixed quickly. I should have asked the state trooper, if i could save the deer for venison.

Hi, a Panasonic Lumix. The deer picture was full 12X zoom and 200 ISO (in case it moved and because it was low light). The deer moved to about 20-30 feet of me I guess. It was about 50 feet away, and I kept talking to it. I'm not altogether pleased with the shot as the focus is more on the body than the head. But, for now, and unless I get a better deer photo, it will do. I also saw a wild turkey and its babies, but that shot is unusable. Here it is.

BTW, the guy that posted the slaughtered deer photo to be an ass, and everyone who requoted it, I've put on my Ignore Posts list. Sorry. Didn't feel like waking up to that this morning. You should know better.
