I've been hearing a lot of republicans aren't so bad on gay issues

Which is like saying Lindsey Lohan isn't that bad an alcoholic
Well true to form they couldn't help thenselves this week when they sent a letter to President Obama to once more delay Don't Ask Don't Tell

House GOP urges delay in ‘Don’t Ask’ repeal certification

A group of 23 Republican members of the U.S. House wrote President Obama on Thursday asking him to hold off on certification of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal until Congress can review the Defense Department’s policy changes that would lead to open service.

The thing is many gay and even bisexual republican don't see that their sexuality defines them as a whole, as way to many liberals do. Thus they wear their sexuality on their sleeve, and go poor is me I am only half a man because of lawicon_rolleyes.gif

So our priority on gay issues are not the same as the left.

But hay I as a conservative want us True Blue Gays the real thing, to have an identity of our very own, because gay has been hijacked by any Tom, Dick, and Harry. But thats so progressive so many of the left feel threatend by iticon_wink.gif

After all a bisexual is ot a homosexualicon_exclaim.gif

Not all republicans are anti-gay or racist or anti-feminist. These are the more conservative of the republicans who want to delay repeal of DADT.

Are y'all even reading some of the comments y'all make?

There must be a huge difference in the deep south Republicans, and every other Republican. Our Republicans do not support any kind of gay-rights legislation. In fact - there are no laws in my state to protect your job from being taken simply cus you are gay. If you are teacher, don't come out - cus you could very well lose your position.

It's just hard to see why anyone who supports civil rights, or any kind of future progression would support these Republicans.

But to each his own...however, I'm not going to pretend that these people are worth supporting, because they definitely aren't.

NY GOP tables gay marriage; showdown looms

The Assembly has already passed Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo's bill, and the issue appears to be one vote shy from approval in the Senate, if the Republican caucus which mostly opposes gay marriage allows the measure to the floor for a vote.

    By Steve Peoples
    Roll Call Staff
Newly emboldened Republican lawmakers in Iowa and New Hampshire have sharpened their focus on blocking gay marriage rights, thrusting a wedge issue into the spotlight just as candidates start wooing voters in the most important states on the presidential primary calendar.
