I don't know Seattle well and trying to figure out if folks will be able to cheer me on along the parts of the route that are on the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Aurora Ave (99). Anyone ever run it before?

    Thanks- Josh

P.S. I have reviewed the course map...just can't tell if the roads are accessible to spectators.

Not Seattle, but Chicago Rock & Roll. And Chicago Marathon 2011. Maybe I can get those sexy abs like yours ;)

thanks! unfortunately the portion I am worried about isn't included in the half. It is all on closed sections of the freeway (cool and weird at the same time). It may be a lonely 7-10 mile stretch of running

I ran the 2010 Seattle marathon. The course overlaps some, just not the areas that you're concerned about! I bet you'll be fine. These races are planned for spectators...doesn't the rock n roll aspect make it such that you are passing live performances as frequent as water/refreshment stations? If thats the case you can bet there will be spectators.

I loved the Seattle marathon last year. I'm thinking of doing the rock n roll there in 2012. If you think of it, email me and let me know how it is. I just ran the Alaska marathon last weekend and my next one is Chicago in October.

Good luck this weekend. Sure to be a good time. Seattle is a really great city...definitely will be back.
