39.9 mph. Bars fall off. OOPS. So I have to say I should have checked the tne stem torque after bike re-boxed from last race. 5 weeks ago. 1/2 hour before predicted rapture. Well? Partial rapture? Intermedious rapturalus? Flying cool; Landing ouch. Bike, helmet, glasses, jersey, bibs, gloves, socks and shoes destroyed. First ambulance trip with backboard. 8.5 of 9 lives expended. Glass half full view? Fasted T2 ever. Glass half empty? DNF. And the bottom line? Needed a TT bike upgrade anyway. Scars are cool, right?

These are not the first scars you have, most likely, and they won't be the last. Be thankful that you're alive, and people who are worth your time will see past any kind of scars you might have.

Scars are only cool when the person wears it well.
It recoil in shame when someone criticises rather than telling them where to go, not so much.
@iRaptor: When people ask do you sell it with an awesome surfing story?

I got it right before Hurricane Dennis made landfall catching the biggest wave of my life. Will NEVER forget that day - there's no point in living if you can't feel alive, right?

I'll NEVER do it again, either!!

Scars are awesome - they're a testament to the fact that you've pushed yourself... or did something stupid.

Took a tight turn at way too high a speed in my last tri - ripped my suit, shredded my right thigh and hip, bent in my bike's gear shifter, and couldn't shift up to my top 4 gears. Had another 12 km left in the bike portion, followed by the run - not only did I finish the race, but I got back most of my lost time!

Can't wait for next week's tri - I'll def have to be on some pain meds for my leg, but nothing short of death or dismemberment will keep me from that race!!

And now I have another scar and another story to tell icon_smile.gif

That's gonna leave a mark! Nothing like the finish line photo showing you covered in blood. Maybe I'll take a little ketchup with me for the next race... Gotta give those finish line volunteers something to talk about.

Okay - that is officially bad triathlon juju. May whoever tries this trick be chased into the medical tent by a bear.

some are cool. but only if they are small. not some huge swollen looking thing.

it also depends on where the scar is at.
