Who prefers to date people who have a different political view? For some reason I find conservative guys (who are intelligent) very attractive. Something about the disagreement is hot as hell, lol.

    Who else feels this way?

Ooh... not me. No no. Fuck that. lol

Reason being, most I have date that are Republican or Conservative are uncomfortable with themselves completely. Being out or open isn't apart of who they are or want to be. Makes being in a relationship difficult if you're always hidden or just a secret affection.

Also, I will not argue with someone who does not practice their beliefs but will stand beside them like they're defending it from intruders.

A guy`s political beliefs/philosophy are secondary to me.I go on a gut instinct for him;no strong preferences.I`ve dated most types.I guess there`s a certain attractiveness about a masculine, intelligent, buttoned up conservative guy;but generally there doesn`t seem to be any difference, though I respect a guy who reasonably dissents and has the confidence to do so.

    Absolutely not!

Not that I care about politics and prefer they be kept out of the first few dates until we know we'll love each other regardless of our beliefs.

I can't remember how many times me and my X from 5 years ago would stay on the phone for hours at night and end up mad at each other before bed because he felt the need to bring up his political view. He was very democrat. At the time like I am now I was neutral but didn't agree with everything he was telling me though

Doesn't matter if they are liberal or conservative. I had one guy I dated a couple times get mad at me because he felt the need to express his opinion that our country is going to fall apart due to the Obama administration. I have no idea how the topic came up. But I just said, "well if that's just how you feel"

Him, an older 40s White guy blew up on me saying, THAT'S NOT HOW I FEEL, THAT'S HOW IT IS! I was like...wow calm the fuck down. Don't take your anger out on me, I have no control over what's happening in Washington. Then shortly after that I stopped hearing from him.

Ugh, honestly I'm too stubborn and I really hate it when people disagree with me even when I'm wrong hahaha (sounds bad but it's true) so that would be hard, but I'm sure I can find it in me to be flexible about it...it would be extremely hard...

I do! I've dated a few flaming liberals in my time and I have taken far more from those relationships than with the guys who were politically apathetic or on the same side of the spectrum as myself. I've found I have learned a lot in associating with those with radically different ideologies.

All this right here. Politics are all fine and all but not something I would want to bring up on the first few dates. Nothing is more annoying then getting into a hot blooded argument that drags on and on.

Of course, on another side note, I guess that if the two people were opposites and they had an argument on their political views, it would make for some intense angry sex lol

Hasnt really come up yet. Either a bit more conservative or liberal would be fine.

Very conservative would probably be an issue since so many in that party attempt to earn brownie points with certain sectors by hating gays.

I'm not a really political person, consider myself somewhat moderate. I think I'd have a hard time dating someone who was at the extreme of either end of the political spectrum.

Date whoever you want, not our place to say. It's when it comes to a long term relationship you might have some issue.

    Peace,

We're "San Francisco Conservative" which translates as "Liberal" elsewhere. I too consider myself overall a moderate. Fiscally conservative, socially liberal.

To me another persons political view in this country means little to me, and they would not know mine as I don't wear it on my sleeve. Because we all have a right to vote how we wish, it's called a democracy, and those who don't support that don't support democracy, but dictatorship.

I have found in America many Republicans have no issues with dating a Dem. It's the Dem's with the issues of hate, well and just issues. That would prevent them from loving a Republican.

This leeds one to ponder how is their hate any better from the hate they accuse Republicans of?

I am 23 and have no idea how the political system works. The most I know is republicans typically area against us and dems are more with us. I guess I just never really got into caring about that. I do my research before voting, but I can't really hold any guy responsible for their views when I dont really even know what mine are lol. My buddy Preston has tried over and over to get me into his "rallies" and stuff but I just never really had an interest. It does make me feel dumb when I cant participate in conversations, but other than that, I don't feel like I am missing out.

I don't think political attitudes really dictate my connections with others. however, generally speaking, having more in common with someone tends to make finding a connection with someone easier...

That's strange. I found the opposite. Not all, but most liberals I know are more shallow self centered and not as successful as the consevatives I know. Maybe you just attract the loser consevatives????
