Did I just miss something?

So I'm running around the park shirtless (it's hot here) and cooled down for the last mile or so by walking. This cute guy runs past me but as he runs past me he looks at me...at least I think he did but I really couldn't tell b/c he had shades on. But I didn't think anything of it other than, "hmmm...cute guy".

I keep walking enjoying the surrounding scenery and breeze and catch a glimpse of him still running ahead of me and then he looks back but then continues his run. Again..I thought nothing of it.

I pick up my pace hoping to jog the rest of the way back to the sretching area and eventually I pass him up. But I then slow down to a walk again (again..too hot outside!) and move to the side of the track (to let the other runners by) and start sliding off the gravel down the side of the track almost tripping on myself (the track has ditches on the side so there's a slope). I pull myself together and keep walking. I then hear footsteps behind me and it's cute guy slowing down to a walk too. I slow down so that he could pass me and also thinking he needed to take a turn into the parking lots off to the side. So he cuts in front of me and starts moving further and further off to the side and did the same the that I did and slid on the gravel on the side slope of the track and almost floored it as well. --- cute! So while he's pulling himself together I walk past him and once again I'm ahead of him.

I walk a few more minutes and decided to look back to see if he was still there but sadly I didn't see him....but my eyesight is getting bad. So I just continue my walk back to the stretching area. Not a minute later cute guy runs by me and as he runs by he asks, "wanna run another lap around?"!

...and I say, "nah....I'm done for the day. thanks, though".

Did I just miss something here? Have you ever asked a random guy you saw at the park to run with you....or have been asked? Or was there something more going on here? In either case, I should have accepted. I need a running buddy anyway.

Since he was hot, you missed a golden opportunity. If he was ugly, you would of thouhgt he was some creeper.

Yup. I think you had a good opportunity. Should have said, "I'm done for the day, but could you give me your number for another day?"

I don't get guys like you. You say you need a running buddy, plus you find the guy cute. What are you waiting for,a cute guy to come knock on your door?

I get shy but that's too much icon_smile.gif It sounds like playing way too hard to get. You're going to miss a lot of opportunities.

dang it! i had a feeling it was a missed opportunity as he ran off.

yeah, stuff like this doesn't happen to me so i was taken aback and didn't think to ask for his number.

funny thing is when i got to the stretch area and started doing my stretches i saw him run back (so he didn't even go all away around). i should have chased after him haha.

I can tell you this...This is how my sister met her husband. She was jogging, she didn't realize she dropped her towel... He picked up the towel and jogged up to her to return it...

A year later they were married, two years to the present , they have a baby girl and I am an uncle... icon_smile.gif

LOL - not only did you miss out on an opportunity, you missed out on like FIFTY! How many messages did this poor guy have to give you?

(JK - hope you plan to keep running that route and have a good opening line at the ready.)
