In the U.S. has BRAVO TV become a more formidable "gay voice" than the LOGO channel?

The inspiration for this thread came from another thread by Alpha Muscle regarding Anderson Cooper and Bravo TV's exec Andy Cohen here....
    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/1523462

Let me be clear I think it is great that we have LOGO....but I like the philosophy of Andy Cohen who is the Executive Vice President of Original Programming on Bravo.....

Asked in a recent interview whether Bravo has become a “gay network,” Cohen stated, “I’m always saying we’re bi, but I think it’s kind of how I view myself being gay — it’s just one of things that I am,” he said. “So Bravo may or may not be gay, but I think there’s a lot of other things going on. I think for the gay people on Bravo, it’s one of the things that they are — they’re not on Bravo because they’re gay. The people that are gay on Bravo, like Brad on Rachel Zoe or Jeff on ‘Flipping Out,’ they’re gay but they’re also great at what they do and that’s why they’re on Bravo, and that’s important.”

I find myself watching Bravo more and more and I think it will be programming on a station like this that will be pivotal in the next stage of gay acceptance.

Besides....I couldn't go very long without my "Jersey Housewives".

Your thoughts on Bravo? Logo? Anything else?

I sometimes go back to Logo, but the problem is that usually after watching it regularly for just a couple weeks, I've caught up and everything is repeats and so I take some time off from it again.

seems like Bravo is more popular with/geared toward women. That's why they have a thousand "Real Housewives" shows on there. I mean, do gay guys actually give a shit about whoever "Bethenny" is?

Real Housewives and The A-list are essentially the same show.

    Logo is for Canada

or at least all there shows come from there.

Anywho i agree, if you watch LOGO too much u end up watchin repeats of everything.

I wouldnt necessarily called BRAVO a gay network. It's more geared towards women who love gay men

I watch very little TV, but did land on both networks at one point in time and have to say I like Bravo much, much better.

Having a passion for high-end real estate, I love "Million Dollar Listing," and even though California does zero for me personally, I like Madison a lot and want to read his book! When I decide to take the plunge into real estate sales, I want to be as successful as he is.

On the other hand, the few shows I watched on Logo were too dramatic, too intense, too deep, too....everything. I got nothing out of them at all, except confusion!

It's hard to compare the two. Bravo has a lot of original programming. Logo fills large chunks of their programming with Buffy, AbFab, etc.that it picks up from other networks. Bravo has established itself as a brand, while Logo is like a gay-friendly public access channel scrambling to find programming to fill its dead air.

I haven't watched LOGO in years. There really just isn't anything interesting on there anymore. I can't even remember what I used to watch on there actually.

Bravo is a good network. I do tend to like alot of their shows. But all the Housewives stuff is out of hand. I cannot stand reality drama and that's all those shows are. This is, sadly, what our society loves to watch.

One thing Logo has going for it, at least for me, is that it airs a lot of gay movies. I originally saw a ton of my favorites on that channel. Trick, Latter Days, Shelter, Adam & Steve. They're not always high caliber films, but it's nice that they air them often (and put some of them On Demand).

Btw, what the hell happened to The Big Gay Sketch Show on Logo? Whether it's canceled or in hiatus hell, I miss it, the "Maya Angelou reads Craigslist ads" skits were hysterical.

Yes I agree the Big Gay Sketch Show was a hoot. Now it is as if RuPaul rules the network with Drag Race, Drag U and God knows what else. I looked on the website and there is no info on the 4th season of "Sketch" which is not a good sign.

Hey! I love Bethenny lol she's my favorite and the realest chick in the game.
And her skinny girl cocktail brand was bought for $120 million. She's relate-able to a lot of people in some form...if you knew her background and all the important stuff.

    anyway, enough about B. Frankel

Right now "The A-list New York" is the best thing Logo's got going on, besides "One Girl 5 Gays."

I just like her assistant guy, if he's still there. He is/was an absolute cutie.

Man cannot live on reality shows alone. Both Bravo and Logo need to get their acts together.
