My first tattoo! Thoughts?

After a long and hard decision to get a tattoo(About a 4 year decision), I'm gonna do it. Instead of going with a picture, I'm going with lyrics. When my mom found out I was gay, she was 100% against it. She told me I was just choosing to be that way and I was just confused. I ended up moving to the states because I didn't want anything to do with her. That was a big thing for me, I had just turned 18. Anyway, after a very heated and emotional argument that probably went on for over an hour, I went to my room and immediately turned on some music. This song was the very first song I listened to after the argument, it really cheered me up, and I specifically remember thinking, "I'm sorry mom, but this is who I am."

The lyrics that I'm tattooing on me say, "And eh, there's nothing else I can say."

I want "And eh" in there for the song reference. I'd rather have that rather than " - Lady GaGa" after it. I just want some thoughts on it, that's all! Thanks!

(This is the remix of the song, Eh Eh; my favourite remix. Skip to 1:35 to hear her sing the lyrics.)

sounds like a cool design for a tattoo if it has a lot of meaning for you.

Where exactly would you get it done on your body? Make sure you chose wisely cause last year I got both my wrists done while I was overseas...BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER

Ack! Well, I have a rule for myself. No tattoo's on any limbs! I haven't chosen an exact location yet, but I'm probably going with the back of my left shoulder. Either than or The side of my body under my arm close to my elbow lol

Agreed, make sure that it has some meaning to it for yourself and that you won't regret having lyrics on you 10 years later. I have 4 tatts, all are symbolic of something and I am currently working on a full back tattoo (4 sessions so far, 1 to go)....I haven't had a regret yet and that is because of the meaning behind it.....Oh, and the are addictive, be aware!! lol.....

This is sage advice... Before I got my tattoo I printed out the design and put it on my mirror in my bedroom. This way, I'd see it every single day... If, after a year, I still liked it... and still wanted it I'd do it.

1 year and 7 days later, I got it.

A 4-year decision about lyrics from a song that's 2 years old? What is this sorcery?!

Ah, an anything-anywhere tattoo? Garden hoses look pretty sick bro. I'd get a garden hose.

I personally don't like them. They are a fad and I'm really bad about following the crowd in just about anything and everything. Finally, when I was a medical student at the VA years ago, I took care of veterans who had gotten tats during the war. Now that they were 60 and 70 years old, they didn't look so great.

I understand that, that's what took me 4 years to make a full decision. But it's the same thing about the human body, really. A body look nice when it's younger. The older you get, the more your body sags and wrinkles. I don't think it's going to matter when I'm that old anyway, not like I'm going to have a 5 star body at 80.

    I say go for it.

I recently got my first tattoo...after over 3 years of searching, tweaking the design...deciding on the size and location. Seemed like forever!! But I am totally happy with my choices.

It's only a fad if you go with what everyone else has. If it has meaning to you, then that is what matters. There will always be people that don't like it or tattoos in general, but hey...you can't please everyone. And besides, it is your body and your form of expression.

Make sure you post a pic when it is done!!

    Cheers!

Probably one of the most vapid, insipid, gratuitous lines in pop history. I wouldn't.

I know this was the song that coincidentally played immediately after you came out, and the song as a whole isn't the worst, but, seriously, dude, no...

I'm sure you could find more meaningful and or simply better lyrics to etch into your skin if you tried.

I don't think you're fully understanding me, but I respect your opinion!

    Thanks Dave, Danny, and Troll.

Lyrics from a current pop star? Consider this. What if in a couple years she goes like Lindsay Lohan is just a drunken, drugged-out mess and she is seen by the world as a psycho bitch? What if in a few years the world sees her songs as mindless, stupid pop much the way we songs like Macarena or Sussudio today? What if after her possible drunken, drugged out mess (mentioned earlier) she becomes a born-again Christian during her recovery (quite common), sees the world differently, and beings fighting against gay rights? You never know what possibilities the future holds.

And there you are. Stuck with her lyrics on your body.

Oh, you've definitely got me wrong. I'm not doing it because it's GaGa. To be honest, I've already stopped liking her. I've been in countless arguments how she's gone to crap from the time her first album was out.

My mom's a Christian and she doesn't believe in gay marriage. I was still considering getting a camera to signify my father who has passed away with a rose coming out of the lens to signify my mom.

Whether I hate her or love her, the song still helped me through a lot. I hate Kanye West with a passion. Remember the KSwift incident? Though I dislike her, I thought Kanye was a complete douche for doing that and it made me hate him more. His album 808s and Heartbreak is still one of my top albums of all time. GaGa's The Fame is my first. I'd listen to those two albums over and over and they turned into my rock.

I never told my mom I was gay. She found out on her own. My whole world came crashing down out of no where. I'm not the type of person who will scrap an idea because I dislike a person. If there's something that means a lot to me, then nothing will change that. Whether she joins a movement against gays, whether she becomes a terrorist and bombs NYC, whatever happens with her will NOT change the meaning of her album to me.

You can call me stupid, you can call me close-minded, or even immature. But when there's something that means a lot to me, I keep it close.
