Michele Bachmann made a statement to FoxNews that she has the spirit of John Wayne.

Well, what I want them to know is just like, John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa. That's the kind of spirit that I have, too.

She was attempting to refer to movie star John Wayne's birthplace, which is Winterset, Iowa. But another famous John Wayne, the infamous murderer John Wayne Gacy, happened to be born in Waterloo, Iowa.

Saying you share the spirit of John Wayne in the first place is full of fail and pretty dumb sounding already. I wonder where in the Bible it says people can share the spirit of dead people.

John Wayne was racist against black people. If she were smart she would not have tried to mention John Wayne at all.

Sort of like her to quote things in part, like the Earth's atmosphere is 0.03 CO2. (when it's really 0.039%)

Gacy is like that % sign. Big difference.

Of course, John Wayne (aka Marion Robert Morrison) actually had a somewhat ambiguous relationship with a particularly revered American institution — namely, the military.

    http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1055/was-john-wayne-a-draft-dodger

I can't say that I blame him, but the fact is that despite his public protestations of patriotism and belief in the American military (and very vocal support for the Vietnam War), he didn't seem at all anxious to serve in the military himself.

I think Wayne was a terrific actor, but I'd never point to him as a man who embodied the American spirit, unless the American spirit means talking a good game but taking the easier way out.

He also had affairs while he was married. Still, he must have liked being married. After all, he got married three times. Two of those marriages ended in divorce. Although it's pretty easy to understand why his second marriage ended in divorce after his wife tried to shoot him. (She thought he was having an affair with his current co-star, Gail Russell, though he may not have been.)

Altogether, this man is not a good poster boy for family values (although he did have plenty of children). And we know how Bachmann feels about family values.

But he sure gave some great performances in some great movies.

Well none of us are perfect, not one of us. yet the gay left resent the right because they feel they look down on them. Yet the gay left are no better if in fact they are worse with their hate. contempt, and bastardisation of others; how is their brand of hate any better than the ones they hate?

Yet bisexual, sociopath serial killer John Wayne Gacy, also gave us Gays a bad name for his sins, because they called this twice married man, whose first wife was the only daughter of Kernel Sanders, gay when he was clearly a bisexual.

If you are talking about Bachmann, then I feel it's important for you to know that it's not just the gay-leftist who dislike Bachmann with great magnitude. It's a widespread feeling amongst many different categories of people.
