Oh no - MNJock2003 is MIA? I am bummed about this.

If true - I for one am very sorry to hear this - Jeffrey was one of the brightest guys I think I've ever met. I hope his departure is short lived - or is a technical glitch. I want to find out what happened - anyone know?icon_neutral.gif

I'll take the blame. Check out these two threads:

"I'm so sick of this" and
"The Real reason people are against gay marriage"

Oh, Shawn, I suspect we all had a hand in this.

Of course I've seen him online, but didn't have much interaction other than noticing his posts.

I did review his comments on the "Gay Marriage" thread (which I hadn't read before).. sounds like he had some good points.... but you can have great points here (ala politics) and still it just be your opinion. I hope he didn't take any dissenting opinions too seriously and comes back.

It sounds like he was an asset to RJ.

    He's not MIA. He's MIIA...missing in inaction.

He turned off his profile when he couldnt argue his point successfully on one of the threads.

I think it was a perfect storm...the confluence of:

    a fanatic*

    a silly thread

    a witless argument

The piety was so insufferable even the pious couldnt take it ...evidently

I'm not feeling the love here, Caslon.

    Hater!

I'll miss him. He argued fanatically, but I always thought he was exceptionally polite compared to most people are on here when they disagree with someone. I found him to be a very thoughtful, kind and intelligent guy. And he was easy on the eyes too.

I always enjoyed reading his posts. He was always polite and mature. He handled Chucky very well a few months ago.
I hope that he returns soon.

I realize that I'm one of the newer people here and am still learning the 'RJ' culture...

Of the various communities that I belong to (gay gamers, tech sites, political sites etc) RJ seems to have the most sensitive members! I've been here, what, a month? Already I think three people have closed their profiles, one after posting a thread about having issues with another member... I've just never seen anything like this before.

Is this the norm for RJ? Do people have a certain half-life in this community after which they just vanish or announce that they're leaving due to some offense or another?

I've been on here for six months (yeah yeah, I know, it seems like I've been nattering away forever), but I haven't seen anything like this before either. Some people always came and went, but not with all this drama.

Geez, I step out of the house for a day and this happens? That'll teach me to have a life. The attrition rate is astronomical around here...

...and we've all been so good and nice for the past few days. Well, I have, at least. Sigh.

Oh well. He was mean to me once. My fragile ego hasn't recovered to this day.

Did MNjock2003 say to anyone that he was offended by something said? A lot of us seem to like and respect each other, take some "under our wings" so to speak, maybe some feelings of ties with each other is why there has been offense taken by some lately. Just sayin-cause I know with me if I like someone, I'm a lot more likely to care what they think than I would if its just joe-blow off the street dissing me, I could care less. This is the most communally warm gay group for discussions I've ever run accross, I think its great here at RJ. I hope there is some simple reason for his departure and that he comes back soon, he's been very friendly to me, a great guy !!!

It was the picture I posted and the resulting...um...discussion about its appropriateness that did him in, I think.

Oh dont get me wrong. I am not saying that I am glad to see him go. I have nothing against him. I thought he was nice ...and him in his speedos was to die for.

I just think this falling on one's sword over silly threads is getting ridiculous. ...oh dear, I dont like your thread, so I must hide/delete my profile.*

Fine...it's their decisions. Dont let the cyber door hit y'all in your asses on the way out.

Plus, I think a hidden/deleted member shouldnt be allowed into the forums. If you leave, you leave. You dont get to lurk.

No, this isn't the norm. It only start about....hmmmm....about....you know....about the time you joined. hmmmmm....oh, just coincidence I am sure...yes, it must be coincidence.

    Anyway, it isnt the norm.

Many moons ago, we had a flare up on here with guys flaming all over the place. The Powers That Be culled a whole bunch of members and that was the end of that.

I could see members getting burned out on the threads. But as the saying goes, if you cant stand the heat stay out of the kitchen.

...and that is something that really confuses me...no one has to read anything on here. Like I have very little knowledge about Chucky cuz I rarely read his posts. At one time, I must have read one or two of his postings and decided that he didnt have anything of particular interest to me...AND I STOPPED READING HIS POSTS. ...as someone so nicely put it, grow a sack! I say take responsibility for you own reading on here. Ignore what you dont like ...or make you comments and let it be.

But this self-inflicted drama is just as amusing as it can be to me.

I had private correspondence with him several times and found him to be a great member of the community and I hope he returns.

But, I think he was looking for a reason to take a break. Ya, calling horrendously unfashionable people horrendously unfashionable isn't very polite, but it isn't really enough to call someone a hypocrite, get into an argument, and leave in a huff. He had his bags packed when he walked into those threads.

    He will be missed.

Maybe this is an opportunity to grow the RJ WoW guild... if members have disagreements, you can log on and have at each other.

Yeah. Awesome!!!!! then we could call this realnerd instead of realjock!!
You, Caslon and ShawnTo can share the presidency.

Do any of the hot guys with athletic bodies ever post on here about ways to get better bodies? or is it just guys posting pictures of cats and butterflies?
seriously, what is the deal with this site?
