I worked out today for the first time. I'm thin and want to bulk. I spent an hour at the gym today, but I'm concerned because I slept for four hours, and couldn't sleep any more. I know sleep is beneficial, but will yesterday's workout not do anything for me if I didn't sleep enough? Can't I just nap tomorrow after I get home from school? (I have class from 8 am to 12 pm so I could nap from 1-4) icon_sad.gif I've never had issues sleeping before but it seems to be a regular occurence

Hey, are you using any pre-supps or working out close to bed time? Either of those could be throwing your rhythm off. As for the nap, IMO if you can make it to the next night, your going to be more or less guaranteed since you'll have a massive melatonin buildup by this time. Good luck!

Try cuting out caffeine, at least for 6 hours or so before bedtime. Coffe and all kinds of sodas have caffeine. Doesn't hurt to take a nap, but a regular 8-hu sleep is best.

That can happen when you suddenly add stress to your body, if you work out right before bed your endorphins could be causing you to wake up.

However, did you know that 4 hours is a complete sleep cycle though, we actually go through 2 in an 8 hour time period, so your body naturally goes to the lightest phase of sleep after 4 hours before it settles back into deep sleep.

I would give it a week-2 weeks if your sleeping habits do not change, or go back to normal by that time, you need to talk to a doctor because something else may be going on.
