DO YOU FORGET? "He Was Mean To Me Once".....

I'm just curious... So you are on RJ posting and suddenly someone you haven't talked to prior is mean to you. Maybe he says something in a forum that is nasty or inappropriate (maybe its one of those things that one misinterprets since its online). Do you remember? Do you forget it? Is it one of those things you hold against?

I chuckled when I read ZDrew's comment about MNJock2003. Thank ZDrew for this thread.. but I'm the same way as ZDrew... Its only happened with 2 or 3 people on here, but while I don't hold it against someone, I don't forget and fortunately one of the people redeemed himself. (LOL)
Are we too sensitive? I certainly wouldn't leave here is someone were crude. I know how to deal with crude people in a reasonable way....

I guess it depends on the level of mean, or where they direct their comments.

I just don't take any of this very seriously. Its so easy to miss 'friendly' sarcasm on the web, so just relax and don't take anything personally. I've read some political stuff on here that makes my blood boil, but its a fitness site, so I don't spend much time on those threads and I'm confident that I can find other topics where the people who are my political opposites show themselves to be friendly, nice people (who are just terribly misguided ;) ) that I'm sure I'd call "friend" if we knew each other in real life.

Ease up folks, its just font on a page.

I try not to take things personally...people's age, their maturity level, and this medium of expression don't always equate to an ideal discourse...

I know people say stuff on here that they couldn't say in the real world for whatever reason...and I would rather have a place where folks can let off steam than another Columbine incident...this site and the 'net don't have a stated ettiquette, but I do try to take responsibility for the messages that are sent out and received by others from me...I also try to be:

Brave - enough to speak my mind
Strong - enough to accept consequences
Kind - enough to respect there are individuals on the other sides of the keyboard responding back.

Do you also try to dance like nobody's watching?

I'm sorry but you totally reminded me of that.. that thing that appears on too many profiles all over the web.

We must be going to the wrong bars because all I've seen in SF is these toothless, trailer park-looking proto-twinks dancing the go-go... Not remotely your caliber.

Well I guess that all depends on what kind of a person you, the individual, are?

As for me, I'm the type to never forget and ,depending on the nature of the situation and the way things go down, I don't forgive either. it's a rare thing for forgive.

Do you think thats good? The downside of what you're saying is that it suggests you'll cling to every slight and forever lay in wait for a chance to hurt those against whom you old potentially ancient grudges... Leaves less room to have a good life.

I keep a list, notes and potential revenge scenarios on anyone who's even looked at me wrong.

It's LUDICROUS to get worked up over some thing that is indeed 'font on a page'. You may as well rant at someone on the TV.

That being said - feelings do get hurt and I always do my best to state my opinion in a respectful way - attacking the issue not the person.

No, I don't remember. This is just the internet, no reason to hold a
    the grudge
    against anyone.
