LOL. Older guys don't need a special routine. Just adjust the weights and rep range according to your abilities. You'll be fine. icon_wink.gif

I'm starting to switch from heavy to lighter wieghts and just adding reps, then keeping rest periods down to about 30 seconds - I still break a decent sweat and have a good workout, but most of all it's easier on my joints. My left ACL is loose and I can't run anymore so I swim instead. I do a lot more stretching (boring) and Yoga once a week. The Yoga class is tough but I figure I'll get used to it eventually.
The guy that owns the gym is 72 and still training 6 days a week - he does wieghts in the morning and then rides his bike at night .

www.BodyBuilding.com has workouts specifically tailored for "older" guys, and an "Over 35" forum. Highly recommended.

Personally, I think that the biggest difference between me as a young athlete and me now is that I recover slower. I still lift heavy, but I give myself more time in between workouts. For an older athlete, anything more than 4 times a week for weight training is overkill.

Cardio, three days a week. I am as strong as I ever was. Cut back on the training and you will make gains! icon_razz.gif
