OK, so according to Michele Bachmann's husband, I'm a relative of Conan now? icon_rolleyes.gif

Just last summer, Dr. Bachmann explained his position on homosexuality while offering theoretical advice to parents concerned that one of their children was gay.

BACHMANN: We have to understand: barbarians need to be educated. They need to be disciplined. Just because someone feels it or thinks it doesn’t mean that we are supposed to go down that road. That’s what is called the sinful nature. We have a responsibility as parents and as authority figures not to encourage such thoughts and feelings from moving into the action steps…

And let’s face it: what is our culture, what is our public education system doing today? They are giving full, wide-open doors to children, not only giving encouragement to think it but to encourage action steps. That’s why when we understand what truly is the percentage of homosexuals in this country, it is small. But by these open doors, I can see and we are experiencing, that it is starting to increase.

Michelle Bachman will not be the Republican nominee for President. Such hatred will eventually bite the Bachmans in the butt.

Bachmann must be stopped. She is a cancer and a disgrace to the idea of liberty.

MockTwinkie, I like you more and more.

There are some good Conservative minds in our country but we aren't seeing them for the clutter of all the nutters. Bachmann represents the angry crazies----the ones who Karl Rove so masterfully added to the winning numbers of Republican voters.

But she might be the VP pick, if the Presidential nominee thinks her support from Teabaggers and others on the Right will be helpful in the 2012 election. A more Centrist candidate might see Bachmann's looney Right support as a plus, a voter base that cares no more about facts & truth than she does, with whom she can do or say no wrong. Meanwhile more moderate Republican voters will focus on their Presidential candidate and try to overlook the nutty Bachmann.

John McCain tried that formula with Sarah Palin, and it might have worked better if Palin had more experience on the national stage and didn't appear so comical. Bachmann says even worse things than Palin, but is harder for most voters to detect. And since she'd energize the Teabagger wing, and bring that voting block solidly into the fold no matter what lunacy she spouts, Bachmann's selection for the VP spot could be very tempting.

She stirs religious social conservatives, nothing more. The tea party started out as people concerned about fiscal responsibility. Unfortunately, it has been hijacked by people like Bachmann who represent little of what the tea party is supposed to.

The tea party is an idea, a concept, not an actual group of people with a membership. Heck, I'm even a "teabagger" if that means that I'm interested in returning to fiscal responsibility!

Doesn't mean anything. They are trying to expose her true colors, whatever those may be! Let's see how Bachmann reacts!

Remember the best way of making an enemy your friend is by not giving them any reason to be your enemy in the eyes of the public.

There is no official membership. Some people decided to give the group/idea/concept an "identity", nothing more.

Bachmann: "I hate gays, gay people are sick in the head"

*cheers and applause from gay conservatives* "Oh yeah Bachmann we love you!"

Anyone care to offer their insights into why there was such a massive negative reaction to Tracy Morgan's remarks and this one seems to have just slipped by? One is a comedian and the other could potentially be married to the President of the United States.

My my my . . . .the selective outrage of the gay community is interesting indeed.

I just watched Dr. Bachmann on TV tonight... He has a fixation for teenagers and barbarians.

Reminded me of the scene from "airplane", the pilot asks the boy, "do you like gladiators?"

How come I get the strange feeling this is a closet door waiting to be opened? It happens so often, maybe its just expected now?

Actually I hope he stays in. We don't need any more self loathers in the community.

I guess you are just going to ignore the outrage.... and for the record Morgan talked about how he would stab his son.
