This weekend just got very interesting. Last night, guess who was incognito? I guess the title is a giveaway! HA!
As I was cutting some shapes on the dancefloor, a stunning girl joined me as if to challenge me for a dance-off. She was apparently overdressed for a beach bar (later I learned she just graced a shop opening earlier). She was in red couture but barefoot... she had another girl carry her strappy shoes. She was wearing a bob wig similar to a Vidal Sassoon signature 'do... I approached her closer and went, "Wow, you look like Linda Evangelista, dahling!!! She gave me "a look" and I lost my buzz instantly when I recognized who she was...OH MY FUCKEN GAWD, MILLA JOVOVICH!?! She leaned closer dancing and "warned" me, "Okay, go tell everyone now and I'll be resident evil." Hahahahahahahah!!! Fucken wicked!!! She was cool... I was like "Oh, fuckkette! Can't be bothered, let's just dance!"
To think that there was a camera crew doing a video shoot for a Lebanese singer's music video last night as well...that was more of a distraction, rather than catching everyone's attention. My mates and I were just too drunk to care especially when "FADE" came blasting from the speakers... but for at least half-an-hour, I was dancing with an A-list celeb!!! FUCK, I sooo need to get me a new camera!!!
I guess I wanted this thread to get some stories from you on your personal celebrity encounters, since you're mostly in US, anyway. Do tell...

THIS SONG WILL ALWAYS REMIND ME OF MILLA...

Oh gosh, yes! Does the video work? I'm getting "We're sorry, this video is no longer available" message when I click on it. It's clearly available on YouTube! This also happens to some vids attachment on facebook as well.

Darlings! I must tell you all about my life!

I was lunching in Paris with Nicole---

No. wait, I was lunching WITH Paris and Nicole--

That's not it either. I was lunching on a Salade Nicoise, with a pair of--

    Crap, I'll get it right.

Nicolas Cage and I were having lunch, at the VERY SAME TIME. Of course, he was in Los Angeles and I was in Florida. He was at some Wolfgang Puck eatery with his fabulous Hollywood friends and I was having a tuna sandwich leaning over my sink in Fort Lauderdale, but still, the COINCIDENCE was REMARKABLE.

But the point is, what Madonna said to me shortly afterwards--

No, not THAT Madonna, it's actually a girl named Donna, but I like her, so I call her "My Donna", and sometimes when I'm drunk it comes out "M'Donna"...anyway, she cleans once a week next door, and sometimes she takes the trash out early and we chat for a bit--

ALL about KABBALAH! Isn't that REMARKABLE? I mean, the COINCIDEN---

My Donna (or is it your Donna? LOL) is also rumoured to play in Dubai. My semi-NBF Perez Hilton says so...

My second cousin knows the mother of the guy who does Liz Taylor's hair.

Not that I want to drop any names.

Seriously though, sounds like you had a fun night Zim!

It doesn't change how much I hate this place. It's only at the height of my drunkeness I enjoy it here, like all the others who hate this place.
As a matter of fact, celebs like it here, they can go about town and not be harassed by paparazzi 'cos it's unlawful here. Goldie Hawn is a regular Dubai visitor. And mostly English football players and their tarty wives. LOL

    That is sooo fucking cool!
I loved her in The 5th Element -MULTIPASS!!!

The only celebs I've met/briefly known have been musicians. I met Felix da Housecat when I used to live in LDN. He spun @ Turnmillls and I was there rocking my homemade tank-top that said 'runaway dreamer' on it. He gave me a hug - I nearly cried!
Then there was the oh-so fabulous Lady Miss Kier (childhood idol! You may know her as the former front woman of Deee-Lite) who I had the pleasure of chatting w/ @ Hot Lunch, a mixed dance nite in Boston a few summers back.
Other than that there was a sleu of DJs in london that I was one degree of separation from. The only one that really scores me any cool points stateside is John B. He dated a few of my girlfriends who lived in my building so would comp us into Fabric when he spun. There's loads more but listing them all would make me look more pretentious than I already have made myself out to be w/ this post!
    Ok, I'm done...
    -Still so jealous!!!!

oooh! OOOH!!! I almost forgot! Also, during my Uni years in LDN I caught the last days of the infamous LAZY DOG @ The Notting Hill Arts Club! -I was at THE last one too!!!
Ben Watt (Everything But The Girl, resident DJ of Lazy Dog) was like less than 2 feet away from me every time I went! It was a very 'in the know' kind of night so the DJ was literally spinning on a fold out table in the back of the dance floor right next to the patron.! SOOOO much sexy deep house you would cream yourself!!
    Ok, I'm really done...

Ben Watt?! Shit, get outta here!!! I've been yearning to see him, let alone Tracey Thorn, oh man! Lucky you!!!
I mean, I think our definition of celebs may be relative to us who are into stuff we are passionate about, meeting them gives you that "I'm ready to die now" feeling. But in the case of Milla, yeah big deal, but I'm not really a screaming fan of hers either, it's just that it'll make you dizzy thinking about it rather than letting her have a good time like everyone else with you. Besides, we don't get to see real Hollywood stars in the flesh around here on a daily basis.

You're absolutely right. I'm a Silicon Valley cliche type of guy and when I get all excited saying I stood behind Steve Jobs in line at the cash register of a toy store in Palo Alto once at Christmas time (he was buying a toy dinosaur set), nobody outside the Valley seems to care.

And when I visit LA and breathlessly report celebrity sitings (at least one or more per visit), my LA friends all roll their eyes at me. They see em all the time and are jaded.

"Guess what!!! I worked out right next to Lou Ferrigno at Gold's Venice -- he was on the bench right next to me!!! He's really nice!" Kurt says, puppy-dog like.

    *Eye rolls*

The 5th Element is one of the best movies -- EVER. Milla Jovovich was awesome in that, and the Resident Evil movies.

I never bump into celebrities. icon_sad.gif
