Contacts?

I have always worn thick glasses but lately I've been thinking of training for a triathlon and while I have prescription swim goggles, I've been seriously thinking about getting contacts.

I'm wondering if any guys in here wear contacts while they are working out, running, swimming and could let me know if they work ok.

I worry about getting sweat in my eyes with contacts in there or having a lense float away even with goggles on.

I have glasses and I hate how they make me look - like the nerdy guy I'm trying to escape from.

Any advice from long time glasses wearers who made the switch would be gratefully accepted.

Ok and I'm vain and think I have nice eyes...

I wear contacts for sports but since I get disposable ones, I can easily change them out when I'm done.

i wear contacts all the time
sweating and normal workout isn't an issue, but if i box i try to take them out as they do fall off occasionally
i wouldn't recommend them for swimming all the time(i use disposable when i do) - chlorine or salty eyes is no good. they haven't come off yet but wouldn't be surprised if they did

I wear disposable soft contacts. I find that they are MUCH more comfortable to work out in than glasses that start to slip down my nose when I sweat. I wear them when I swim and have never had a problem with them falling out in the pool. Try them - I bet you won't go back! icon_wink.gif

Needed corrective lenses since I was in eighth grade. In college, I went to contact lenses and was aboe to wear them for any and al activities, as long as I took the necessary precautions (goggles when playing racquet ball or swimming. If your goggles are on properly, you don't have to worry much about the lenses foating off.) Going on two years now post-lasik surgery and wish I had done it earlier--can do everything as if I never needed lenses. Was def worth the cost! (Still wear goggles for swimming because I don't want those chemicals in my eyes!!)

Yes. Just make sure your goggles are tight so water doesn't get into them.

I wear them sailing with no issue but always wear clear or tinted protective glasses.

I wear hard contact lens, non disposable so losing one is a big issue.
