I stumbled on this tribute to "Alone in the town" from SH2. I had to share because I think It's a marvelous tribute and snazzy upbeat remix.

So chill and relaxing. I can just imagine myself in a lonely, foggy town.

I heard that about Akira and Mary. I'm not sure who is composing the soundtrack for downpour. I am hoping it has more psychological horror than the mediocre SH5 Homecoming. SH4 was a bit off, too.

Well 4 wasn't originally a Silent Hill game in the first place, they just added it all in later. SH2 is by far my favorite and really enjoyed Shattered Memories. Downpour looks good so far and they're trying to go in a SH2 direction [and no Pyramid Head - YAY!!] but then again, so was Homecoming. I still liked Homecoming, just wasn't up to par. Was way better than Origins, though.

1 and 2 are by far the best in my opinion. SH1 had all the crazy cult background. SH2 was just an awesome mind fuck! The characters were so memorable and psychotic to boot. SH4 pissed me off with the ghosts. SH5 seemed more resident evil/Hostel movie gore blandness.

I liked 1 but cannot overstate how much I love 2. I loved the psychological direction it took compared to 1 and the rest [minus Shattered Memories]. I can do with the creepy cult aspect taking a back seat. Homecoming tried too hard to mix the two and add an unnecessary combat system and gore, something SH isn't really known for.

James and Maria do leave a lasting impression. SH3 wasn't too bad. I did like Heathers viewpoint but lack of power was a bit odd. Sexy Heather Beat does not count!

Dark room, no lighting besides the TV or PC. That is the way to play Silent Hill! Do not be afraid, some psychological horror is great for when you're alone. The atmosphere and music gave me the most chills.

SH2 has an amazing storyline and very deep characters. I suggest playing with the lights on.

this thread is awsome, i have alot of silent hill games and resident evil, the new movie is coming up will be good, and the new game comeing soon will hopefully be scary, i felt shattered dreams was not a silent hill game play wise, but it was story wise and that was the reason i loved the game becauseof the story

I was really astonished by how religious-themed the movie was. Are the games that way too?
