    Hi Guys

I'd like to know at what time of day you prefer to workout? Do you think certain periods of the day are better than others? Explain why....

I prefer any time when the gym is not too crowded. At my gym that is usually mid-afternoons, except weekends when the lull seems to be around 6 p.m.

    Late afternoon.

It just "feels right". I'd have to muse over it some to sort out exactly why.

A few years ago I somehow managed to get to the gym for 5:15AM every other day. It worked for a year until I met a guy and started talking on the phone for a long time at night, which cut into my sleep time. icon_biggrin.gif

Now I've settled into a routine: when I'm working I go in the late afternoon, 3/4PM. When I'm not working, I prefer the morning, around 8-9AM.

Most days, both. Long runs in the morning; tempo/speed/weightlifting in late afternoon/early evening.

Mornings around 9 or 10, as the gym is not too packed at that time.

Usually late at night, when the gym is relatively quiet and empty.

    All of the above.

    WestAussieGuy saidExplain why....
15-20 minutes in the morning, 15-20 minutes shortly after work, 15-20 minutes between the first and second dinner (always eat dinner twice). Doing it that way allows me to do more without becoming fatigued toward the end of the workout...much faster gains made that way. I save the longer "workouts" for cardio.
