Vegas is the only place I have been to outside the Middle East that felt like the Middle East. It has that 'opening the oven door' sort of heat that takes your breath away.

I love it when people who live in a desert are shocked that the temperatures are high and that verga (rainfall that evaporates before reaching the ground) is common.

    well it's understandable in vegas.

vegas is more like 'come' and 'go' kinda city. some people are still not used to it.

I thought storms like this were common in Las Vegas?

I remember being on the Strip bus and they had an announcment that the airport was closing due to an incoming supercell filled with thunder and rain!

Also saw a lot of lighning over the plain on the way to the Grand Canyon.

    Very cool indeed!
