I agree!!! She's here to stay, and paraphrasing Gaga, she's not a blonde bitch who lipsyncs. She writes her own songs, she sings live, she's creative and a gay rights activist.

    Love that gif.

I think it's silly to anoint someone as the Queen of Pop on a yearly basis, which is what they're basing their decision on. I would still place Madonna as the Queen.

Lady Gaga is definitely a strong contender to wear that crown someday. But I don't think Mimi wants to hear that.

if this growling, sensationalistic, derivative biotche is the current "queen of pop"...well, that upholds my low opinion of current top 40 music.

She would be the current reigning in my books. Even if I don't care so much for her most recent album, there's no doubt Gaga has influence.

thanks for the nitt-picking, small change, cheap shot reply, SHT! i have added the missing letters in my original post that appear to have offended you so much. typing on my cell phone leaves much to be desired.

do you always take such immature pot shots at peeps that have the nerve to disagree with you? such behavior is the essence of callowness.

    ah yes....."the arrogance of youth"....

says the guy who used "growling, sensationalistic, derivative biotche" in their disagreement...i hate it when older people try to use the "youth" card to try to make young people look stupid to try to cover up their own stupidity...and yeah i totally agree with rolling stone(i mean they based it on facts u know numbers not people's opinions icon_rolleyes.gif ) she is the queen of pop so face it grandpa and get use to her growling cuz she's here to stay icon_wink.gif

No, no I don't believe she is. ~3 years does not equal queen icon_razz.gif. That article shouldn't have only used data from 2009-2011

the queen? nope, not yet. but she has potential.

in my opinion, she's the current pop artist who's most likely to leave a major mark on music. And that's definitely a start. but we'll have to see where she goes from here on out. after all, mainstream pop is fickle, and what's hot today will be deader than disco by next week.

I dont think Gaga is. Taylor Swift has had a better career so far. And I feel like Katy Perry will in the long run have a better career than Gaga. Katy's Teenage Dream album has had more number 1's then any gaga or swift album. So just wait 5-10 yrs to see where everyone is.

Katy's album also hasn't sold a lot of copies despite the fact that she's had 4 #1's

For releasing all the music she has...

    YES!

Not too into her anymore as I was with her first album, but I've got to admit she's pretty damn good, musically.

As far as music goes, lady gaga hasn't 'changed' anything about music. A lot of her fans think a recognizable portion of her music sucks. She is no queen of pop.

And furthermore, Rolling Stone's opinion doesn't mean shit, as a magazine they are a complete sell out and have been.

Not to jump the gun and choose sides, but older guys need to get off their high horse thinking they're the all-knowing beings. It's getting old.. morning.gif

    Nothing against you, though!

What would define the Queen of Pop? What would she have to accomplish? icon_question.gif

Gaga was crowned through number of album sales, digital tracks, YouTube views, airplay (radio), charts, social networking, touring, awards, and album reviews. I'm pretty sure that qualifies her. :/

She has most definitely changed the face and performance art of music.
You'd be daft to think otherwise.

And please, for the sake of all that is evil... keep the Madonna comments out of it.

That's a bold statement, back it up with evidence and I might believe there is some depth in your music taste.
