Beat up as in instigated the altercation? not really.
Someone tried to beat me up and I made him regret it. I also had witnesses to prove that it was an unprovoked attack and that I did not use excessive force to knock his dumb ass down till it stayed down.

It was pride weekend. A couple of friends and I went to a diner way after midnight. I guess the guy at the table behind us was not thrilled that the waitress was a 6'4-6" drag queen. Apparently he would refer to the waitress racial and anti-gay slurs to his girlfriend, when the waitress overheard them, she decided to suck it in, be the better person, and just let it go.
At some point the guy and his girlfriend decided to just leave. He came back in got the waitress's attention and said, "Hey , I have one more thing for you." and spat in her face. Waitress followed him out the restaurant. They go into a shouting match outside our window (it was like watching TV). Next thing you know, the waitress is laying the beat down on the guy. The rest of the restaurant staff had to pull her off of him. It wasn't even a close fight. The guy disappeared shortly afterwards, and the police showed up later on to ask some questions.
I don't think she got into too much trouble as the police left after they asked their questions.

Me, and two truckers.
I think one was hospitalized...an ambulance came. My friends helped me disappear so I wouldn't get arrested.
But it wasn't a gay-straight thing...they were drunk and some WOMEN were egging them on, and I happened to be the closest thing they thought they could vent on.

Bullshit~ Sometimes you have to fight for what you believe in...literally. If we were at war, at home on our land, with a country treading on our forefront...would you be a coward and hide in an attic, or fight for what you think is right? I'm against starting violence. But when provoked, I will stop it~

When I was younger I used to get in fights all the time ( with straight guys at straight clubs, I wasn't out yet ! ) !! sometimes I won and there were a couple of times I lost. The point is that I was struggling with my sexuality that is why I was so angry and get in fights. I am 33 now and openly gay, So All that anger is gone. When somebody starts shit, gay or straight I try to be the bigger person and talk it out and walk away, But trust me there have been a couple of times in the past year that the other person would just not let it go and try to show off in front of their friends. Little do they know that I was in boxing when I was younger and still have my combos. I felt so bad cuz all it took was two punches and they hit the floor. It is not something that I am proud of but It does feel good that I can take care of myself and my bf when somebody is in his face. You should never be violent only as a last resort. Especially when somebody is drunk because that is not a fair fight. Always try to be the bigger person and walk away It won't look like you are a pussy It just looks like you have class. And if you DO have to get in a fight make sure you are not the one starting it, cuz there is nothing more embarassing than getting your ass kicked after talking shit. (make sure you don't stick around for the cops to show up because they will charge you with assault, battery or what ever they want. Take it from me. Just go out and have a good time and Love Life.. sorry If my grammar is not that good, English is not my first language.. To Anyone who reads this Life is too short so don't get caught up in the bullshit, Be Grateful for what you do have and NOT Ungrateful for what you don't !!!! xoxoxoxo Alx from Las Vegas !!! Never seen it happen to someone else, but heard about it from a relative and had to do it myself in self defense when someone attempted to gay bash me in high school. I kicked his ass, somehow earned his respect and he became a friend of mine. If all other resources and alternatives are completely exhausted, or if I'm completely drunk, then I'd fight to defend someone I care about and/or myself. But my wits and stockloads of common sense and a forgiving attitude have kept me from duking it out over the last 8 years; so there's low chance of success, though a high chance of participation.

I haven't fought outside the ring in years. The only time I will is if someone throws that first punch. It its just shit talking I tend to ignore it, except in the case of an incident in Vegas.
It was a couple drunk guys with their family at the pool in the MGM. I was on the tube with my husband, on our honeymoon at the time. They made comments as we passed them the first time and I ignored it. The second time they did it I went off and had a few acquaintances from security eject and ban them from the property. I remember hearing the guys wife bitching him out after that because they were suppose to be there for another week but now had to find another hotel. Suffice to say they wont be staying at any MGM properties anytime soon.
I don't like fighting as it doesn't get the results I prefer. So what if he got the crap beat out of him he is still going to be a jerk most of the time. However hitting them where it hurts the most, pocket book, they tend to rethink things. Like the drunk would had to find a new hotel for his family to stay in. If he doesnt keep himself in line Im sure his wife and kids will.

Little guy took it. Then promptly beat the shit out of the guy. Whne it was over teh queenly guy stood over the guy and told him that is your Majesty to you. The BIG guy has let to live it down

I've swung (not unprovoked) at both gay and straight. Two gay guys on different nights seemed to have a problem with not being touch feely (even with my partner right next to me). They were both asked multiple times that I wasn't to be touched like that. They didn't listen and I used my hands to move them back a reasonable distance, that didn't satisfy, and so I punched. Now I can't go into two clubs in DC. Oh well.
The straight guy was easier. They turned a friendly gay of soccer into a competitive sport and got violent. End of story.

God no. On second thought, yes I have it was me. When I was 16 and was about eh, 135 maybe 140 pounds and 5ft 6 1/2, my 22 year old brother who is 6/2 and a solid 185 pounds pure muscle used to kick the crap out of me for no other reason than he could.
One dayarriving home after an exhausting day at track practice (much to my chagrin he was visiting) and was just not in the mood for any of his bullying he started punching me in my arm.
Next thing you know we were both yelling and cursing at each other in English and broken Spanish fist were flying and for once kicked the crap out of him. He never bothered me again after that.

My friend is in supreme condition and fought them both off (he is a wrestler / kick boxer). What else could he do - a guy who would never cause a fight. What can any of us do when attacked, but fight like hell? Not good to fight - but we have to defend ourselves.

I think gay guys tend to play the gay card in situations where it doesn't apply. People don't get beaten up BECAUSE they are black. They don't get beaten up BECAUSE they are gay. They get beaten up or attacked because someone is a psychotic asshole looking for trouble. If the fag in question didn't take the hits, it would have been someone else, maybe a black person, a hispanic, whatever. I've never been in a fight. No one generally needs to be.

Feb 13, 2009 4:59 PM GMT
I graduated high school in 1978. A kid a year older than me, Mike, was from California, and APPARENTLY, somewhere along the line, some of the locals got it into their head that he was gay. They invited him to a party and broke both his upper and lower jaws. Mike was a nice guy as far as I was concerned, and I felt just awful for him. I wasn't there when they did the actual deed.
My mom's brother, Frank, was called gay by his brother over Fourth of July Weekend 1969. He almost certainly was, if his mannerisms were any indication. Frank drove from Medford to Eugene, stuck a 30.06 rifle in his mouth, used a string to pull the trigger, and blew the back of his head off. His mother found him a few hours later. Ed, his brother, imposed a sentence of 10 years on himself to my parent's friend's ranch in North Central Nebraska. In 10 years, he never left the ranch. Then, one day, he packed up and went back to Oregon. To this day, my mom won't admit to the facts of Frank's death.
I've had my tires slashed, sugar put in my gas tank, bolts loosened, and gotten threats. Comes with the territory.
In places where false belief systems are deeply entrenched, hate crime is much more common.
This is why it's so very important to be out, honest, and not a complete flake, if gay / bi folks every wish to become more accepted. Staying closeted, living in fear, and living a lie helps NO ONE.
Personally, I refuse to be an enabler to the closeted folks; to the lies; to the dysfunctional dual lives some folks lead.
Over the years I've seen sad stories a few times. The two stories above are both true. Both were needless.
Whatever you do, do not act as an enabler to persons who live dual lives.
It's so very important not to be tolerant of false belief systems believers that purvey hate crimes, and harassment, and to stand up and say this is wrong.

Chucky can be abrasive and untactful at times but reading his post here makes me realize that there is not an ounce of dishonesty to him. Sometimes i disagree with certain things he says and being the type of person who doesn't cut to the chase quickly his ways are tough to swallow, but I think he's someone I can disagree with on some stupid little things, but still retain an immense amount of respect for him.
Sometimes i look at comments/profiles that say 'member hidden' etc., and think why must they hide, and then i look at my own life and the many ways i still hide. The i read chucky's words and realize how f-ing ridiculous it is to hide and to worry about making others uncomfortable, or whatever. There are never perfect times for coming out, living completely honestly, and there can be a little messiness, but my god i don't want to look back at this time or in years look at where i am and regret what i didn't do.
I'm pasting his post on my desktop so i can be reminded of this every day.
