A healthy diet isn't just about what you're not consuming, but what you ARE consuming also. Diet sodas are completely unnatural and have no place in a healthy diet.

The stupid soda companies haven't switched to stevia. Coca-Cola spends money making stupid commercials for Truvia (stevia extract) with annoying song "I found a new love, a natural true love, that comes from a little green leaf". Well apparently they are so cheap they don't follow up on that by putting it in diet soda instead of aspartame. Fucking hypocrites.

    1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
    2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.
    3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl... Let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean.
    4. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
    5. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
    6. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away corrosion.
    7. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
    8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
9.The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days.
10.To carry Coca Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly Corrosive materials.
11.The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!
BTW I drink 3+ liters of water at work every day (phear the free bottled water), and no caffeine. I feel a ****load better most days than when I drank decaff coffee.Smiley

i just googled the nutrition info of diet coke. there's barely any vitamins/minerals, coke zero has almost no calories and barely any sugar. so if there's none of that in it, what in the world could they be putting in there?
the answer- chemicals. salt. artificial sweeteners. these sweeteners- like aspartame and sorbitol and such- break down once ingested and become acidic remnants in the stomach.
i don't even know what this does to your digestive system in the long run but it cant be good.
Yes, coke tastes great but seriously, just thinking about what is in it just makes me run the other way.
for alternatives- you could try drinking natural orange juice? or those "naked" bottled fruit smoothie drinks they have at starbucks? those are great. to even get more bang for your buck in the summer, ask them to blend it with ice in a large (venti) cup. you get way more out of it and its like a little slushy, only its healthy! great for summer heat!

    ETC...

    From http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/acid.asp
"The next time you are stopped by a highway patrolman, try asking him if he has ever scrubbed blood off the highway with Coca Cola...If you are lucky, by the time he is done laughing he will have forgotten about the citation he was going to give you.

Basically, you can use it to clean, but that does not make it "bad."

There's zero calories in coke zero, that it is why it is called coke zero....

All the additives and things in it aren't bad for you, they may not be 'natural' but that doesn't mean they're bad for you.

The only thing thats bad about it is it's high acidity, which can rot your teeth, but no more than regular coke

Well...."everybody knows that Coke is really good for unblock sinks and drains",lol... basically, my own personal experience indicates that Coke is not good for my system. I cannot comment on behalf of other people. When i was in my teens and early twenties it didn’t affect me as badly but definitely getting older "I’m now 36" I seem to feel it more. I dont think there is anything wrong with having a glass here and there but it cannot be good for us in large quantities on a daily basis! “I'm just saying”... however everyone is free to drink whatever they like.Emoticon

If all you want to be is skinny, then stop eating any solid food for a few weeks and only drink water, tea, coffee, soda, juice, milk...etc. I dropped 52 pounds in 8 weeks. icon_wink.gif

I treat all soda (regular, decaff, diet, zero, cherry, vanilla, purple, blue, red, orange, etc.) for what it is: liquid candy. A little here and there isn't gonna hurt, but when your body's main source of water is soda and you can't go more than a few days without your hit, that's when you know something is wrong (read: addicted).

    I don't drink sodas.

The carbonization of soft drinks are high in phosphorus, which can also deplete you of calcium

"It depletes calcium from your bones, the calcium ion needed
to neutralize the phosphoric acid which you can't excrete as
acid per se. Since phosphate can't stay in your bones
without calcium also, the phosphate in your bones goes too."
