So, I've been called into an A&F Casting tomorrow. To be honest, I'm quite honest and I don't know what to do/expect. Has anyone here been to one of their castings and if you have, can you tell me what to expect?

They often call "castings" just to work for their store as a "model". Are you speaking in getting photographed and stuck on their wall form? Or just, "Hey, I fold clothes and look pretty" casting?

Oh. Yeah. Been to them, had the job... Go dressed as one of them and you'll make an impression.

Better working in their back room as you'll make more per-hour. With the "model" status you can request off days for getting photographed (if you are really going to) and they'll give it to you. Same company as Hollister, so if it doesn't work with them, you can go down the Malls Hall and try there too.

    At 5'5 you won't be picked as a model-sorry

But they will hire you to fold clothing and work there.icon_smile.gif

I was at one once, but was asked to leave. Apparently you're not supposed to fluff the models.

I used to work as a "model" for Hollister. Ugh. Hated it honestly.

Expect Glitter,Drugs and Janice Dickinson's loud Fish face to pop out of no where telling you you'll never be a super star like her.

Not to be a dick but you might just get the job due to the singular fact that you're Asian. I went out w/ a guy who worked as a "floor model" for A&F. He was Asian, 5'4" , and wasnt exactly jaw-dropping when it came to looks. He understood fully why he got the job as a "model". They often stood him out on the floor just to show off and to draw in other minority customers. Hey, he needed a job so it worked for him. He didnt enjoy it very much though since other guys were snobbish and think they're too hot for everyone else around them.

Point of my post it's not that big a deal, and dont let it go to your head too much if you get picked. Still, personally I think you're a good-looking guy.

LOL. I was gonna say, the OP is a little too ethnic to be working at A&F. Unless he's applying for a stockroom position. Good luck either way. If this is something you really want, then go for it. icon_cool.gif

Wear a flannel shirt, jeans and flip flops and you'll get hired. They really don't want their employee's personality to show through.

    *whispers*

Since I manufacture apparel for their sister brand..I can tell you that its usually frat boy types that get picked. You should see the photo shoot catalog they send me.

Oh and Tom Wellings (smallville) worked for A&F I believe.

    That's not being a model. That's being a pretty/glorified retail worker.

PS. I'm the photographer for my company, and every employee is a "model" in their advertisements.

They must be doing something right. This is the scene at the A&F store in London every Saturday. These lunatics (who do not even look like the A&F demographic) wait in line and then pay twice the overpriced price you guys pay for A&F in the US!

Sounds like they're still trying to recover from the whole "Two Wongs Don't Make a White" ordeal. icon_lol.gif

Whaoh! What a reality check. I thought A&F went the way of the dodo.
I see more homeless guys sporting A&F than anyone else these days.

OP, you're cute and seem to have a brain (it shows). Go and do better.
