To those of you who are into RPGs where you have fairly wide options when it comes to character creation, do you mainly:

    a) create a character that looks as close to yourself as possible

    b) create a character that looks as different to yourself as possible

    c) create a character that looks as hot as possible

(this survey was brought to you by me reading about Skyrim and how customisable the avatars are going to be).

As dumb as this sounds I pick my guy by how good his race looks in set type of armors. I like the big plate look vs the wimpy robe. As same for men in real life. No twinks here

I create an idea about who my character is and then I go based off of that. I never aim to make a character look like me, but then I never strive to make it different from me either.

I have played with males and have even created female characters while playing RPGs.

I find most classes in any game usually end up looking like a bad ass anyway, so I don't worry that much about armor appearance when coming up with a character.

What I do struggle with, however, is name creation.

    Option C.

Ironically enough, my straight friends tend to play female characters and make them as hot as possible too.

Haha, yup my friends do this too.

For me, I tend to make the guy look like myself, but also at the same time make him really hot. It gives me hope I guess? That is if I do pick a human as my character, I rarely do. Tarus, Dwarves, Lizard people, that's my cup to tea.

That's right, I'll make one jacked LIzard dude.

My oblivion character is a lizard. I tend to stray from humanity when I can but when I must be a human I go with C. My Shepard is a chick and she is ultra fine.

    Option b and c.

When I played wow I had an undead warlock and a blood elf pally. The pally being somewhat hot (for horde) and my lock just being a badass.

Lies. Actually he inda is. I decided to be a girl Shepard though for two reasons, Kaiden won't man handle boy Shepard and Garus has a sexy voice.

I usually pic (C) but what I do is create a character that looks the weakest, smallest, more feminine, and cutzie with pinks or lighter pastels.... give it a cute name like Pepperpottz, or Cutiepatootie, then....... when I reach the level for player vs player, I TEAR THEIR FACE OFFicon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gif, blow a kiss and be on my way. icon_smile.gifScreenshot2011-05-08at64542PM.png

What are these Shepards people keep mentioning?

When looks have nothing to do with gameplay:
I usually do A). Simple normal looking character. It actually makes me look unique because everyone else wants to be something that looks like Gaga or a beastman or a teletubby, and standard human is rare.

Maybe on a second character or if there are no options to make someone look realistic, I will make a bo-hunk C) who makes me want to eat his whole body chunk by delicious chunk.

I often will pick a name that gay guys would notice but the rest wouldn't understand so it's easier to find gaymers.

When your character's race & body have an impact on how they fight or progress, I generally lean towards the intellectual/magic side without going totally teletubby.

That is not dumb. I do the same except I am more into the light and med armors. Plate just seems like it would chaff in all the wrong places... icon_razz.gif

    Options B & C for me I guess.

I've always played female characters, as they tend to look better. If I do make a male character, tend to try and make him as hot as possible, usually involves black hair and blue eyes icon_rolleyes.gif

i've done mostly B cuz i tend to go by what i think is cool to put together at the moment. I've done A only when i have a human alt on WoW
