Bet you thought it said "fornication" didn't you!icon_confused.gif

No, this is the sensation of having bugs crawling on your skin, most commonly associated (by most people) with drug use, but also has other causes, such as: herpes zoster, skin cancer and Lyme disease, to name three.

Apparently, it can also be caused by taking Vitamin B-12 with raspberry extract.

The store was out of my usual B-12, so in a hurry I bought some meant for tree-huggers or some-such other users. Who needs anything other than B-12 in their B-12?? It wasn't a flavoring, so that's not the reason.

I have had a mild reaction to eating raspberries many years ago, although the flavoring found in foodstuffs is too weak to cause a reaction.

Well, it seems these pills have a good dosage! I'm off them now, but it will take 3 or 4 days for it to clear my system to see if indeed that is the culprit.

Nothing else in my life has changed food or life-style wise, so I'm betting on the vitamins.

Any other ideas? (I'm speaking to those with at least a modicum of medical knowledge, thank you.)

And here I thought that formication was the process of being made into a plastic countertop.

    LOL. close, but no cigar.

It's actually based in Latin, for 'ant'. How's that for a trivia bit?

I think you're on the right track by stopping the vitamins. Sounds like you're just allergic to raspberries.

Update: I still have some residual 'crawling' and have started using more aloe-based lotion on my body. I also have a friend who is into naturopathic healing and she suggested something I'm willing to try involving some herbs and such. More on the results later.
