This is easily ignored. In the article it says most support came from EU and Latin American countries, including Brazil (the most Catholic country based on population). All of these regions ironically constitute the most 'Catholic' areas on the planet, which just shows to me how this statement is nothing to worry about.

Also, the Vatican is just an observer to the UN, it has no voting power. Even if it did, this resolution is non-binding meaning it carries no legal weight and it just symbolic.

mconyc saidNo where in their statement does it even imply that. Exaggeration and misinformation in order to prove any point is not helpful to anyone, nor does it aid in anyone's argument. Proper analysis and logic should prevail. While I am not saying anyone did that here, the sources for this info might be dubious or skewed. icon_confused.gif

Seems pretty clear to me that he is comparing them. It is amazing that people are sill supporting this homophobic/pedophile organization and sending them money!

“The archbishop expanded on a point he has previously tried to impress upon the Human Rights Council, as he observed that all societies regulate sexual behavior to some extent – by forbidding practices like incest, pedophilia, or rape – for the sake of the common good.”

The Catholic Church forbids homosexual practices.

It seems the Catholic Church regards homosexuality as one of those sexual behaviors that need forbidding, like incest, pedophilia or rape.

Vatican official: UN gay 'rights' agenda endangers Church's freedom
    By Benjamin Mann reports:

The Vatican representative also said marriage could be threatened by related measures that would mandate homosexual adoptions and introduce “compulsory sex education at school that clashes with Christian values.”

Wow, how far off the mark can they go? How does adoptions by gays or str8 'threaten' marriage? As for 'compulsory sex education', if you don't like it, put your kid in a private Catholic school without ANY federal funding. Last I knew, schools were administered by government entities supported by tax dollars and were NOT Christian or teaching 'Christian values'. Hmmmm....church and state comes to mind of this one Mr. Bishop!

It's a sad fact that throughout the course of Church history, the Popes were notorious for adultery, rape, incest, prostitution, paedophilia and whatever.
At least two were murdered by the furious husbands whose wives were caught in bed with the Pope.
To say that these Popes were Christians would be rather like saying that a cloudless sky is green.

Interesting that Tomasi should mention pedophilia, since that seems to be rampant among the catholic priesthood. While priests are not even to think about sex and must suppress all sexual feelings, such suppression is unnatural and can be held back for only so long; then they look to altar boys and boys in parochial schools and find the right fit for their sexual outlet. Pedophilia is not a gay issue, but it certainly is one for the catholic priesthood.

I wonder if the little boy stuffed underneath his robe agreed with that.
